Cheating is unacceptable no matter what type of situation it is. After reading about the Atlanta Public School scandal, and finding out the consequences that were given to the teachers, I totally agree that the behavior for the teachers were not justifiable. If you break the law, then you’re going to be punished and there’s no other way around it. I do believe that the long jail sentence given to the convicted teachers were a bit insane, but the teachers know all consequences of every law they break before agreeing to teach. In my opinion, the punishments don’t fit the crime because we have criminals and drug dealers on the street free but teachers in jail because they changed answers on an elementary school test. The justice system doesn’t always make sense sometimes, but at the end of the day, we all know the consequences if we commit the crime. …show more content…

Obviously, the teachers changing the answers to give students’ a better grade is not acceptable, but if you want to look at it at a different perspective, why these tests were grades low is another way to look at it. I think parents have a huge impact on their child’s grades and effort on school because if they’re not pushing their kid to do their homework and study at home, then the kids are not going to push themselves to succeed in the classroom. These are high school kids, so they need all the help they can get to succeed because at that young age, they are not responsible enough to stay on track and focus on their school work without someone helping them and keeping them on task. Parents have such a huge impact on their child’s success in school, so knowing there were many low test scores, something tells me the parents are not doing the job they need to be doing at
