In a world where technology is vastly improving every year, It can be difficult to keep up with the latest gear. Most people want the best of the best when they are making a big purchase, so when buying a new computer it is important to remember to look at the facts and pay less attention to the adds. Manufacturers often slander their competitors, making it difficult to make an educated decision on your next computer purchase. Today there are two types of computer that dominate the market, PC (personal computer) and Macintosh (Mac for short). I am not the first person to compare the two manufacturers, this topic is very controversial with dedicated supporters on both sides. Both machines are incredible, if you compare the latest Macbook Pro or the latest HP Elite to models that came out five years prior, the difference in operating power is astonishing. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, but when you add up all of the facts one is clearly superior to the other.
Operating Systems
` An operating system (or OS for short) is the software that a user will interact with, such as: Windows which utilizes the 'start' option, or OS X which utilizes gestures and the finder option. Windows and OS X are vastly different, and determining what software you favor is one of the most important steps in selecting a new computer, so lets take a look the software that both computers will come with. It used to be that the choice between a Mac and a PC was pretty clear.
Apple will need to continue to re-engineer they’re products as a continuous process to improve its effectiveness and efficiency. Apple must forecast and continue to re-define its effectiveness and its efficiency toward its products. Apple will re-examine their products as time continues to move and make sure they follow through with the social changes that come about. This will help with this process and it will make sure that the customer’s that lie ahead will be stealing to purchase Apple products. The local Charter school decided to allow students to purchase MAC book a few years ago when just coming on the market. I had a compact computer that I’ve had for years but when comparing and seeing all the advantages that the MAC had to offer I preferred to use the Mac computer instead.

Not long ago computers were non-existent in many homes. When computers were first introduced to the world, they were for the sole purpose of performing business functions. The only people who owned computers were large organizations. Eventually, computers were introduced into the homes of those who could afford to buy them. Today, just about everyone owns some form of system that they use daily to help manage their day-to-day operations. What many once survived without now seems impossible to do without. As technology continues to grow, it has a greater effect on families and the education system. Some companies such as Microsoft and Apple made it possible to reinvent a new form of technology that would change the world. Each company had some form of struggle and overtime had to keep up with the changes of time and the way people communicated. From the first day of its invention, organizations have had to steadily implement new operating systems to keep up with the demands of the people while staying afloat with competitors. The ways of life for many have changed as well as the way people communicate. It is evident that the history and uses of computers have changed the world but these computers could not perform without the operating systems. Various operating systems will be discussed, how they began and how they each changed since they were first introduced. Although, they all had a purpose each varied in how they performed and changed the lives of many and will continue in the near future.
All might think that a PC is awesome, but is not called Windows for nothing. When they say Windows they mean Windows. Macintosh has been known for it’s simplicity. Windows users say Mac has no games. I say to them there are games, but if you want to “play games” get a game system. Macs give a new vision in the computer industry.
For those of you that still stuck in windoze land, have no fear; Mac OSX is here. As a 6-year user of Bill Gate's Windows, making the move to the Mac's creative user-interface was easy. I've been using Mac's throughout my whole life, but only come to enjoy it since OSX was released. OSX is jam-packed with matrix like features, the best pre-bundled software, and boyish good looks.
Windows based computers are more practical, easier to use, and more versatile than Macintosh computers. There has always been much debate over which is the better system. There are people who are die-hard Macintosh users, and there are people who are the complete opposite, and naturally people sitting somewhere in between. The fact remains that the majority of home and business users own Windows based systems because of their versatility in all areas.
The similarities and the differences between Mac operating system (OS X) and Windows 10 operating system.
The first objective I would like to evaluate is the portability of MacBook Pros. The MacBook weighs less than 4 lbs, which makes it a very ideal laptop to carry around campus in a backpack. It is also very thin which is perfect to slide into your backpack without having to take anything out. Although the Pros sister computer, the MacBook Air is even lighter and thinner which is more ideal for a person who carries their Mac everywhere they go. I chose the Pro because it was looking for performance, which leads me to my next topic, speed.
For the people that desire a device that excels in specific criteria, whether that might be performance (computer gamers), portability, or price there are other devices meant for those purposes. Research has shown that most people would prefer a well-rounded device that can meet a variety of criteria with minimal compromise. The fact that the MacBook Air has met these criteria while still being compatible with other devices and programs is what makes it the best laptop. While it is unknown where technology is going, it is safe to say that Apple will continue to hold its place at the top. While other companies have tired to make a similar product, no one has made a true comparison to the MacBook Air.
From 1980 to 1996, Apple’s competitive range in the PC industry was rocky. Although Apples products were unique and well built, they were overpriced compared to competing products from IBM and others. As competitor prices dropped, Apple prices stayed the same and the company saw a decline in sales as customers opted to purchase from its competitors. John Sculley, former CEO of Apple, took many steps to improve the company’s competitive advantage. One of those steps was to compete with price by producing a low-cost computers that appealed to a mass-market. The second step was to form an alliance with rivals IBM and Novel in order to create new operating systems and applications...
An Operating system is system software that controls the system’s hardware that interacts with users and the application software. As we all may know, Windows Microsoft has always been a commercial high-level sale in the retail industry and an in domain operating system used today. But there are more operating systems than just Windows Microsoft than the general population may assume. Linux is another well-known operating systems, which is free and open-source software. Linux is also used in companies we would have never thought of like Google, NASA, USPS, Amazon and many more companies. Linux and Microsoft operating systems have been in competition to see which one is the best operating system in the market. There are so many resemblances
Ever since computers first came into production, they have been evolving. The Commodore 64 and Apple computers have dominated the very first computer market. Today, there are many companies in the computer industry fighting for technology supremacy. And since the beginning, every new generation of computers has dominatedover the old ones. When they first came out, each jump in technology took awhile, but nowadays, the technology changes daily. Fifth generation computers are overall much better than the previous generation.
