Parenting Classes in High School Most of us during our infamous teenage years or early college years don’t plan on bringing a cute, chunky, tiny, and adorable little baby into this world, but the fact of the matter for some it, unfortunately, does happen at such a young age. I personally didn’t imagine going through my childhood years and some teenage years without my mother and having other relatives and family members step in and work together to raise me because my mother wasn’t ready to take on the job of raising a baby. Parenthood is one of the most challenging responsibilities a human being can ever bear. According to the World Health Organization, there are 40-50 million reported abortions per year, that’s estimated to about 125,000 abortions each day. Each year in the U.S, nearly 51,000 kids are put up for adoption. All of these numbers are extremely high for just 1 year, just 365 days. That’s mostly because people aren’t ready to be parents, and these numbers could more than likely be easily reduced from parenting classes. Parenting classes have many benefits like learning the hardships of teen parenting, getting insights on adult responsibilities, sex education and prevention of teen pregnancy, improvement of child and parent relationships, greater empathy, and preventing dropouts. Not only does it offer these benefits but it teaches basic skills like domestics skills which are cooking and cleaning, growth and development of a child, learning how to handle each stage as the child grows, learning how to change diapers, bathe infants and young children, and other things that are important to know as a
