1. In the beginning of the movie, Oskar Schindler is a charismatic, mysterious man. He is a ladies’ man, and he has a good amount of money. Also, Oskar is in the factory business, and he will hire anybody in order to work in his factories. These characteristics and values are proven by two different scenes in the beginning of the movie. First, in the first scene of the movie, Oskar Schindler is constantly tipping the waiter to do tasks for him, such as sending drinks to different tables for him. This proves that Oskar has a good amount of money to waste and that he is a mysterious man, because the intentions of sending drinks to another table is not immediately revealed. The personal and symbolic qualities of Itzhak Stern were that he was a kind, hard-working man and he cared deeply for Schindler. H symbolized the typical success story of a Jew during these times. When Schindler offered Stern a job as an assistant to him, he was grateful to Schindler. So, in return, Stern was a hard-worker, and always informed Schindler about what was going on with the factory. He was kind because he allowed people to come up to Schindler and thank him, even though Stern got in trouble for this. Stern symbolized a Jew who was able to have success during these times. He was saved by a German on more than one occasion, and he was saved from death. He was very lucky compared to others. Itzhak Stern influenced Oskar Schindler by teaching Schindler to care about people. In the beginning, Schindler could care less about the Jews, but after seeing and saving Stern in different conditions and situations, Schindler gains a want to help people. In the end of the movie, Schindler confesses to Stern that he wishes that he could have saved more Jews. Only Stern is responsible for instilling this characteristic in
