The United States Military found it very necessary to get involved in many of the middle eastern countries, due to the fact that these issued were a possible threat to the safety of the United States itself. The invasion of Kuwait was a conflict between the Iraq Ba’athist and the Emirate of Kuwait, where the Iraqis involved Kuwait. The reason for this was because Iraq accused Kuwait of “slant drilling” and stealing petroleum. Another suspected reason for the invasion of Kuwait was that Iraq was in a great deal of debt with the US, owing them $60billion dollars. By winning this Invasion over petroleum, Iraq would hopefully get enough money to pay their debt off to the US, but unfortunately for them, the US got involved and helped to protect Kuwait. …show more content…

One of the unique things about Operation Desert Storm was that it was one of the first operations to use a great deal of advanced technology. Ultimately, the U.S. came out victorious and won the fight against Iraq. Another precaution that was taken to protect the United States was to issue a No-Fly Zone. Some of the other countries that were involved was the United Kingdom, Turkey, France. A No-Fly Zone was essentially a rule in which there were certain areas where Iraqi Aircrafts were not allowed to fly in. The No-Fly Zone policies were put into place in order to prevent any possible chemical attacks or bombing against the Kurdish people. This was especially necessary after the September 11, 2001 (9/11) terrorism attacks. 9/11 was a series of attacks against the United States by the Iraqi terrorist group known as al-Qaeda. Four passenger planes were hijacked, and two of the planes were flown into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center, one was flown into the Pentagon, and another was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
