9/11. A horrible act viewed by many, where 4 ill-fated planes were hijacked and propelled into important super-structures, and pastures, is broadcasted on the news on every anniversary of this travesty, and every time, eye-witness stories show up. These stories are often talked about for a large amount of time, but with the numerous accounts of that fateful day, nobody can get all of their stories. I would like to show you some of the most obscure stories that are often overlooked by many. From people in a different country, people right in the tower, and residents of the island of Manhattan, everyone was affected on that fateful day, so what exactly are those stories?
The Deconstruction of the building is one of the most important aspects of the building, The resources that i have found are related to the topic i have chosen (buildings systems) because it goes over important aspects of the building and helps us recognize how that these factors are related to the topic and also to help show that these where a large part of the death. The research that is to be presented is related to the factors of death on 9/11. The most contributing factors of the death on 9/11 was the Building system’s and how they were not completely prepared or not tested.
What happened in 9/11 was not an attack done with missiles launched by enemies flying with their airplanes, but with commercial airplanes that had apparently not a trace of suspicious terrorist activity, making such an attack difficult to detect and prevent. Thompson (2001), in his story “Fear & Loathing in America”, stated that nothing could have prevented what happened in 9/11, not “even George Bush's $350 billion ‘Star Wars’ missile defense system”. However, Thomas Drake, National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower, states that NSA had information that could have prevented what happened at 9/11 had they shared it (“Thomas Drake: ‘9/11 Became a Profit Center’ for the NSA,” 2012).
September 11 2001, and December 7 1941 were two of the most tragic days in American history which caused a lot of Americans to lose their precious life's . On September 11 2001, over 2,996 people were killed and more the 6,000 people injured . The four planes that were in the air , consisted of 265 people who died instantly due to the crash . In addition, on December 7, 1941 there were over 2,403 deaths, 188 destroyed planes, and 8 battleship that were destroyed and or damaged. Both of these major events included an enemy surprise attacking us with some type of Aircraft. Our president at the time, George bush reacted calmly to the situation during his speech about 9/11 because because if he showed that he was panicking maybe our nation will
The terrorist attack on the World Trade Center has long been described as an act of war and a tremendous defeat for the United States. The world watched in horror at the mass destruction happening in our country. Fourteen years later since that dreadful event, many people of Madera gathered around Friday – to share condolences to those who lost loved ones and friends. September 11th, otherwise known as Patriot Day, this day was designated in memory of the nearly three thousand who died.
The events of 9/11 rattled America and demonstrated the need for a revision in the workings of the United States Intelligence Community. Many Americans, particularly those with left-wing political beliefs, view the new laws and resolutions in national security to be a fitting response considering 2,605 citizens died and 6,294 were hospitalized for related injuries. To prevent a tragedy so deadly from repeating, the NSA needs to advance its approach to the twenty-first century accordingly. Since terrorists communicate largely via cell-phones and the internet, the NSA having access to our phone records is only logical. By law, the NSA can only examine the numbers dialed and the length of the call, needing a warrant from a judge to eavesdrop on
Your right, no one could have ever fathomed the magnitude of what happened on 9/11. From the responders to the civilians nothing went as it was "suppose" to. I believe the down and dirty fact remains, according to the official reports we are still making overall mistakes we made before Pearl Harbor. We still seeing the same deficiencies time after time after each major disaster we have had. Our readings stated that NORAD and the FAA never even propose the possibility or had protocol that there would be a suicide hijacking that would turn the aircraft into a missile. They also assumed that the aircraft would not disappear from radar and they would have plenty of time to intercept (Kaimen, 2012). Not to mention all the Intel that was being
For people who were born after 2001 have you ever wondered what it was like to like through 9/11? Well here is the experience of living through it from Michael O’Mara.
My favorite time period in history would have to be 9/11. I was only a year old at the time it happened, but over the years I’ve heard about it in school and from my parents. Although it was such a tragic day, I believe that day brought so many people together. Since so many people were mourning due to losses, people were able to connect and mourn together. Being that young I just thought two towers fell down but didn't know the full story behind everything that went down on that horrific day in history. Often times we take things for granted but little did people know that would be the last day they would see their husband, wife, aunt, uncle, kid, niece, nephew, etc.
Around 8:00 am on September 11, 2001 Shirley rolled out of bed to go on her day. Shirley felt uneasy knowing it was the anniversary of her mother's death. Although, she continued on her day to clean around the house and do the laundry. By the time Shirley was done with all the housework she thought to make breakfast for herself. Shirley poured a bowl of Cheerios and walked to the porch to eat her meal.
The attacks on 9/11 are similar to the 1993 bombing at the world trade center because both were terrorist attacks and both were on the world trade center.
Across the country, and essentially the world, September 11, 2001 has gained recognition as the day of a series of terroristic attacks on the United States. Yielding the death of thousands from the four hijacked planes at the sites of the World Trade Center ambush, crash in Pennsylvania and the Pentagon, these attacks have left a momentous imprint on American soil. Every year on the anniversary of the attacks, millions pay their respect for the lives lost. One of the most noted occurrences of 9/11 was the immediate response of New York City police officers, firefighters, and EMTs to help victims in the Twin Towers. While the heroism of these men and women’s actions to save lives will always be respected every year, the actions taken by the United States after the
As I look back at our country, I begin to realize something. The United States has always been in some type of conflict during its two hundred plus year history. However, the conflicts shaped our country as the United States eventually became the number one superpower in the world. Despite the difficulties back then, our great country was able to overcome anything. This gives us our hope for the future as we can look back on how we solved our country’s conflicts in the past. We would be able to learn from our victories and mistakes and learn many various lessons. If another challenging situation were to happen, the United States would be prepared for anything.
9/11 was one of the darkest days in America, but some say the government could have been part of these attacks. For many years people have debated about the 9/11 cover up. This theory cannot explain why the government would do this. Once people understand why the 9/11 cover up is fake, they will begin to see the answer to their problem, could the government have done this? This conspiracy theory is wrong because, terrorists admitted to the attacks, so many people died, and there's no evidence against the government.
On September 11, 2001, the United States experienced a tragedy that changed our country forever. Sixteen years ago, the world as we knew it was turned upside down. Thousands of innocent lives had been lost. Some burned to death. Some trapped in the heavy rubble. Some forced to jump. Picturing this would probably keep you awake at night, as it still does for many of us today. We will always remember this day for the rest of our lives. Although, today we have come to realize that this tragedy has united our country, making us stronger than we’ve ever been before.
