Goal #1 S (specific – answers the who? and what?) My goal is to gain 150 hours of experience by working with children and shadowing an Occupational Therapist (OT) in a clinical setting by August 2017. M (measurable – answers the how?) I will contact 3 to 4 Occupational Therapy clinics in or around the Denton area. I will ask what their requirements are to volunteer and work with an OT. Once I have been given the requirements I will provide them with all of the necessary information to begin my volunteer/shadowing hours. and what?) My goal is to attain a Master’s of Occupational Therapy degree, from Texas Woman’s University by the Fall of 2019. M (measurable – answers the how?) I will apply for the TWU Alumni Advantage process to the Master’s of Occupational Therapy Program. I will apply to graduate school, and will meet all of the requirements listed on the TWU Alumni Advantage Application Program webpage and turn in my application and all of the requirements in by August of 2016, in order to be accepted as a part of the incoming Fall 2017 class. A (attainable – is the goal realistic? Can it be achieved in a specific amount of time?) I plan on attaining my Master’s of Occupational therapy within 28 months of beginning the program. I will attain it with in this time periods because I plan to stay on track with the program and keeping my grades up at B’s or better by studying and working hard. R (relevant – the goal aligns with my current tasks and focus on a defined area) I will use the knowledge that I gained from my Bachelor’s of Science in Child Development and apply it to the new information that I will be learning during the Master’s of Occupational Therapy Program.
