Do you respect our country? Do I have respect for my country? I do! Respect is a responsibility. My responsibility is to respect the flag that this country proudly owns. To stand with my right hand placed over my chest as the flag stands before me. To say the Pledge of Allegiance. My responsibility to my country is to make sure that the flag is to never touch the ground. When the flag is so worn that it no longer serves as a symbol of our country, it is my responsibility to my country to make sure that it is destroyed in an appropriate manner. Another responsibility to my country is to be a good citizen in my community. To be a good citizen means to be involved in my community. Veterans and current servers fought and continue to fight to keep this country safe and free. If it wasn’t for many soldiers that fought for our freedom against Britain, this country might be very different from today. In fact, respect needs to be given to the families as well. Their families have lost precious time with their loved ones because of them not being home. Some of these men and women will never come home because they die serving the country that they love. They don’t have to fight but that is how they show their love for our country.
