Our world has witnessed many auspicious leaders, yet Gaius Julius Caesar has reigned among all, and has earned the pleasure to be one of the greatest leaders to ever exist. Caesar has prospered through many trials and tribulations to gain the triumphant reputation he has to this day. There are many things to learn about Julius Caesar, such as his early life, the road to becoming a leader, the things witnessed as leader, and his death by betrayal. Gaius Julius Caesar, was delivered by his mother, Aurelia Cotta on July 12, 100 BC. According to the article Julius Caesar, “His father, also Gaius, was a praetor who governed the province of Asia and his mother, Aurelia Cotta, was of noble birth.” (Joshua J. Julius Caesar was an orator, a lawgiver, a statesman, a general, and historian, so it’s very hard to say he was never busy throughout his life. Another accomplishment Caesar has overcome was being victorious in every battle he had anything to do with.
With all his success there has to be some support. Julius gained a generalship with Gnaeus Pompey, and Marcus Licinius Crassus. According to “Julius Caesar” Caesar was deeply in debt, both financially and politically, to Crassus and needed to raise both money and his prestige”. ( Joshua J. Mark Pg. 4) Pompey had been the most wealthiest man in Rome and still holds the reputation. Julius got financial help from Pompey. Julius would later see all his success and ruin it all with having people go and kill Pompey, so his trust was broken. Caesar’s life was taken while standing with Rome’s most wealthiest lawyers in the theatre of Pompey on March 15, 44 BC. Caesar was planning to go on a military campaign just a few days after the assassination of Caesar. Fights started on the day of Caesar’s funeral at Cassius and Brutus’ house with angry middle class and lower class
