Augustus Caesar Historians generally like to remember julius caesar during the Roman age and tend to forget the importance of others during this period in this paper strives to cover the importance of his son Augustus caesar and the things he has done in his life and how he has changed our way of life. Gaius octavius or well known as Augustus caesar was born on september 23, 63 BCE in Rome, Italy. Caesar was the first ever roman emperor following the republic. This republic was destroyed by his great uncle or adoptive father Julius caesar. Julius caesar was a lawyer first then he became a ruler in rome. After years of fun with his wife lepidus tried to take over octavius’s power in the west. Lepidus wasn't strong enough so octavius forced him into retirement. Octavious launched a campaign with religious publicity because it was about the original gods of order. Octavian changed changed his name to suggest he was commander it was now called emperor. Other than being the emperor he was the master of the roman greco world and he was also father of spain for a while. During his 40 year span he doubled his empire and expanded it it reach a little part of britain and minor asia the rest was his too. Augustus did not really spend his time in rome mostly outside because he was trying to expand it so much now Augustus was the first to ever create police officers and a fire department.
