How close does Man of Steel fly towards the Superman legacy, and are its changes for the better or for the worse? Many fundamentalist fanatics have mixed feelings amongst Man of Steel, and are critiquing director, Zack Snyder, due to the vast range in which the concept of the movie is from the origins of Superman. Some fanatics question if the Snyder fully understands the origins of Superman due to the far fetch theory of the film opposed to the comics. The disappointment has left mixed feelings amongst the audience. Some express that the twists were a nice addition to the films; while others feel as if the story should stay the same. The film goes off on a complete tangent from the origins of Superman. Zack Snyder has made voluminous inaccuracies due to the fact that Superman does not get his full potential powers until three-fourths of the way through the film, he has lack of concern for the citizens, and most importantly he executes General Zod.
Is this film about Superman or about a mysterious bearded man who protects people once in every decade of his lifetime? One problem that the film has lies within the first hour of the movie - in which the film, having up to that point not yet really established Superman as a hero. Opposed to the original Superman in which Superman would be fully developed within the first scene of the movie. In addition to his powers being fully developed, Superman would have already established his arch nemesis as well. This course of action took way to long, and while understanding that the director wanted a firm background of Clark Kent as well as Kal-El this action could have been more upfront. ...m. However, in Man of Steel he did the unthinkable, he killed a life form, that life form being General Zod. Fanatics were outraged at the sight of this scene, and they have the right to be. The decision was poor, and almost ruined the entire movie.
When all is considered, the decisions made by the director to change Man of Steel from the original comics was a poor choice, for Superman not gaining full potential for an extensive time, he contains no concern for the citizens, and he murders a life form. The director, Zack Snyder, changed this film to try to appeal to different generations, yet he did not consider the original fanatics. The original fanatics were the ones whom created this series to what it is today. Granted Man of Steel overall was a pleasant film to watch, however the fact that it does not follow the comics furies the original Superman enthusiasts.
We are currently living in the Golden Age of Superheroes. They dominate our cultural life, and have become seemingly permanent fixtures in modern media. Man of Steel offers many theological meanings and imagery to the life of Jesus Christ and the Bible. The character of Superman depicts a Christ like figure, but there are other things in the movie that have a theological perspective and shows aspects of Christ’s life here on this earth and His entire backstory. Superman will always contain the messiah myths told by Christians. Many good stories are written with the use of myths and cultures and religions. Some writers do this to give an idea for viewers to ponder on, while other writers use it for emotional attachment. Some of the best characters in the history of fiction are based off of myths, folklore and religion. This paper will discuss the details of the “Christ” figure, his symbolism, and his origin. It will also discuss the topic of faith that comes up in the film and the symbolism of hope.

The concept of categorical imperative, follows along with the majority of the actions Superman takes. Superman’s decision making is done out of good will which is a “good in itself.” Some might say that Aristotle’s accounts is most plausible in this case. Everything about Aristotle’s ethical theories points to Superman performs virtuous acts which leads to a life of happiness. Lex’s actions not only harms others, but also harms his chances of cultivating a virtuous character. The drawback of Aristotle’s theory in Superman’s case is Superman’s longevity. Aristotle’s theory, makes it so that one can only obtain happiness at the end of their lives; there is no telling what the future holds, Superman might not always take the correct actions. In the case of Mill’s theory, one can see that neither of Superman’s identities seek out higher pleasures; one only sees him live his life day by day; either stopping the bad guys or writing articles about bad guys. All the mentioned arguments throughout this essay on top of; the star performances, unique marketing and special effects, help make The Dark Knight a truly great film. Prior to the movies release it was questioned wether the film could sustain the 'increasing moral weight imposed upon it', the movie to date has more than dealt with this pressure, and has become a focal point for many discussions and essays, and finally it is because of the morals and ethics within the movie that I have written this essay.
The story is one of Frank Millers best work, as the story has a purpose and really leaves the audience thinking. The film has had superb ratings as rotten tomatoes gives it a ninety-four percent, and most fans would recommend this story to anyone who is looking for an awesome batman storyline. In fact the storyline is so great and popular that it was used as the source material for the Dark Knight Rises and is being used as the source material for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. The film does a great job of emphasizing an epic scale by involving the cold war, and showing how great of an importance Superman is by asking who he should the most powerful man answer to? Both superhero films, Spiderman and Superman have evolved in many ways. I will however elaborate more on the evolution of the Spiderman films. Spiderman has had many changes to his costumes. The traditional costume that has been used a lot is made from lycra and spandex. The suit had blue and red on it although most of the suit was covered up with blue.
Intense Movie Progression Movies have become darker. The heroes, people are familiar with , Batman, Superman, Flash, and etc. , have turned vile and brutal. With the surge of technology and social media in the past couple decades it is nearly impossible to be unaware of a big time movie release, and the opening weekend of the film being the pivotal moment. Batman v Superman was one of the most highly anticipated films of the year and with its release came everyones thoughts, whether it be a random person with a twitter account or well known movie critic. The Dark Knight follows the crusade of Batman as he tries to shut down the mob in Gotham City. A new factor comes into play, something that could shake Batman to his core and rip Gotham apart, the Joker portrayed by Heath Ledger. The film itself does not stray from the classic superhero plot line of there is a hero, a problem arises, the hero is tested and nearly dies but in the end ends up overcoming the obstacle and defeating the problem. Granted the movie does have a few differences it sticks to the generalization for the most part, making it like every other Batman movie. However, where this movie gets its originality is the way that the story is presented and the way that the characters in the film are portrayed.
