Since the 1930’s, the DC industry has changed every year. These changes have made the industry better, which led to DC Comics becoming one of the top comic industries. DC Comics is iconically known for producing the famous superheroes Superman and Batman. Starting in 1934, the Eastern Color Printing (ECP) started to published new-strip comics in Famous Funnies. Later on, imitators started to published King Comics and Popular Comics. The following year, the company made the first comic book to introduce new material instead of reprints of newspaper strips (DeForest) such as New Fun: The Big Comic Magazine made by Malcolm. The popularity with comic books started to decline. To try and avoid the decline, the industry killed off some of the main characters, including Superman. Even after killing the characters, the company was still in a decline (DC & Marvel). 1984, Dick Grayson transformed Robin into Nightwing (DC Comics Inc). In 1985, the editorial staff felt the comics were becoming to confusing for readers. Later on writer Mark Wolfman and artist George Perez wrote the 12-issue Crisis on Infinite Earth, which became a reboot for the confusing comics. That same year, DC housecleaned to try and make their universes much stronger, which led to Supergirl, Silver Age Flash, and Nighthawk being cut. In 1986 John Bryne modernized Superman’s origin with the Man of Steel. The Man of Steel became the first million seller. That same year, The Dark Night Returns was made and it redefined Batman. The company launched their superheroes again and revolutionized their world of comic books. Since they did this, the popularity started to grow once again. In the later 80’s, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and the Justice League all made comebacks. In 1989, the Warner Communications came together with Time Inc. and formed the Time Warner Inc.
