Both superhero films, Spiderman and Superman have evolved in many ways. I will however elaborate more on the evolution of the Spiderman films. Spiderman has had many changes to his costumes. The traditional costume that has been used a lot is made from lycra and spandex. The suit had blue and red on it although most of the suit was covered up with blue. In Spiderman 3, there was also a black suit. The mask was another component that was attached to the suit. There is no major change between the characters Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield, however Toby is a typical nerd with those thick glasses, on the other hand Andrew does not really look as if his the nerd he just looks like an outsider that has his own traits and hobbies, he has his own thing going on. The villains have evolved. In Spiderman 2002 the Green Goblin looks like a toy he does not look at all realistic. All he does is fly around on a surfboad thing and throws bombs, he does not really give off a scary impression. The Lizard however looks very realistic except for its freakishly large body because that is unrealistic. It is scary as it is a large lizard that is attacking you. Mary Jane is the typical damsel in distress. She is the girl that Peter wishes he had and the girl that constantly needs to be saved by the hero. Mary Jane is absolutely helpless. On the other hand there is Gwen Stacy, a dedicated girl who is not interested in the guy with the muscles however she is interested in the boy who was able to stand up to the schools bully. She is a girl who looks as if she is certain about where she wants to be in the future. Gwen knows about Peters secret which shows the trust they share between one another. Mary Jane only finds out

Let’s discuss a little bit of comic book history for starters. The most iconic superhero in all of American comic book history has got to be Superman. He was created near the beginning of superhero comic books and debuted in Action Comics #1 in 1938[1]. He would remain as the blueprint for many superheroes for years to come as the atypical white American male. Spider-Man, otherwise known as Peter Parker, was taking a walk, and the Green Goblin came, and captured Gwen Stacy, which is Spider-Man’s secret lifelong love. Then the Green Goblin announces his name to the huge crowd in New York City , “I am the Green Goblin and I will kill Spider-Man.”
A girl runs frantically through the woods trying to escape an axe wielding villain. The defenseless victim suddenly trips and collapses to the ground. The villain laughs wickedly as he lifts the axe above his head. The girl releases a final scream as the weapon quickly ends her life, causing the audience to go silent as they watch the villain drag away the lifeless body. Death, blood, guts, suspense, screaming, and terror are all just a few things to expect when watching a modern day horror film. What is horror? Horror can be defined as an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust. (Wilson) The description of horror is not very pleasant, but for some reason horror films are extremely popular. Why is this so? People are addicted to the synthetic feeling of being terrified.
When something is created it is a given that it will be picked apart, dismantled, will evolve into something even greater. It has become the norm in film-making to play by these rules of deformation. Movie makers have stretched the definitions of genre to encompass the given criteria set up by the very people who created these staple types of films that movie goers are used to. Today we can watch romantic comedies that take place in outer space, or horror where no one is killed. It seems as though as soon as you find a clear definition of what a specific genre is, someone comes along and reinvents the category.
Even though there were few similarities between the book and the old movie, there still were some. One similarity would be that Victor was a great scientist and that he was infatuated with the concept of death and life. hence him creating the creature. Another similarity would be that the creature was actually created, now the setting and location it was created is entirely different from the book. But the creature was actually created. Apart from these it really is very difficult to come up with any other similarities. It was very difficult to come up with many similarities because the movie was so different from the book.

Frank Miller’s 300 the movie is probably the few adaptations of comic books to films that has managed to stay true to the original source and the success the movie 300 made globally is a testament of such, however in every successful film there is always the downsides of it especially if the original source is a comic book and therefore there is the expectations between the comic reader audience and the cinema audience.
1959 was an exciting year in the history of filmmaking. An extraordinary conjunction of talent throughout the globe existed. In France, Truffaut, Godard, Chabrol, Rohmer, Rivette, and Resnais all directed their first films, thus establishing the French New Wave. In Italy, Fellini created the elegant La Dolce Vita, and Antonioni gave us L’avventura. Most importantly, though, in America, famed British director Alfred Hitchcock gave us the classic thriller North by Northwest, the father of the modern action film.
What makes people fascinated and amused to watch movies? I think all kinds of movies are, in there own way, great. Practically the excitement of horror movies, and science and technology of science fiction movies, and action and enthusiasm in the action movies are some credits that makes people’s engrossment. Even so could all movies create an entertainment and make people experience their thoughts of imaginations in the real world. What are the most interesting things about these film genres, which could establish a fantasy world for their fans to escape to their imaginations and live with it? Participating in suspense, adventure, mysteries, and discovery amuse audiences every time they watch films. There is specific film genres that have most of this attraction to the audience, which make them most likely to have all secretes of attraction in it. These films genres have changed our out look and make us thinks better, because it provides us with a source of leisure; these movies are horror movies, science fiction movies, and action movies.
The Golden Age of Comics was perhaps the greatest era in comic book history. Many people loved the comics during this time period because they were all stories about good triumphing over evil. Many of these stories reflected over historical events over the time period. “Pro-American characters were popular due to the time period occuring mostly during World War II.” (PBS)
However, this popularity has fluctuated throughout history. In the past few decades, demand for comics in the print media had been falling, in part due to the successes of other children 's media, such as cartoons. “Our biggest fear was that that audience was going to get to a point where we weren 't able to build it up again,” says Dan DiDio, co-publisher of DC Comics, “and a lot of what we do would be branded lost because there was nobody out there reading it" (Martin 14). Luckily, comic creators realized that the stories were perfect for screen adaptations: "they 're full of spectacle [and] adventure with an emotional arc for the hero. That 's what movies have always been about” (Humphries). The promise of lucrative merchandise sales and cross-promotion undoubtedly encouraged production, as well. Comic books were first adapted for television in the 40s and 50s, and met with huge success. Thus, superhero television programs set the stage for the inevitable point when comics took to the big screen with the first Superman movie in 1978 (Humphries). The Reasons Behind the Popularity of Action Films In this essay I am going to explore the conventions of action films and their popularity. People love action films, and when they go to see one there are conventions you would expect to see in the film All plots of action films are based on the same outline, Hero and villain meet, there's a disruption of order, and mission, then everything is sorted out when the villain dies and everything returns to normal. There are Stock characters that you expect to see in this genre of film, the hero, the villain and two attractive ladies. The main action is around a male hero, however, modern films have featured female heroines for example Angelina Jolie in 'Tomb Raider'. If the hero is male he is always good looking, intelligent, brave, chauvinistic, and manages to escape from life threatening situations, however the hero will always have a weakness, and if the hero is male the weakness is normally women.
Many people don’t think about it so much, but movies (or just film in general) have become such a big part of our lives that we don’t think much of it because it just feels like a usual part of living. But have you ever wondered why this is, and how far back film started? Movies and film have been around for a long time, have developed in big ways throughout time, and has advanced in such a big and new way to this day.
