When it comes to the DC superhero shows on the CW, Supergirl is the most fundamentally difficult piece in which the director and writers have to portray Kara and her heroine powers. Kara has the same heat vision, super speed, super strength, ice breath, and flying capabilities as Superman, and the TV show consistently pushes the boundaries of the capabilities of special effects on television. The finale of season two, titled “Nevertheless, She Persisted,” is possibly one of the most captivating episodes of Supergirl. While some of the episodes leading up to main event seem drawn out and a little mundane, when it comes to this superpower fight, Supergirl transforms into an amazing, action-packed TV show. When Superman looks at Supergirl he does not see his older cousin, instead, he sees his archenemy, General Zod. The battle between the two is brutal and compelling, one of the best battles in the entire series. Thanks to the special effects and use of slow motion, the audience can feel every punch and explosion. Since both sides of the fight are heroes, the viewer does not know who to root for in the fight, which makes it a very engaging scene. However, the show eventually had to have a winner, which was Supergirl, who knocked out Superman with a destructive uppercut. Although a very close fight, Kara proves that she is the strongest hero on Earth, portrayed by the part in which she flies Clark to the Fortress of Solitude in order to stop the brainwashing. I found that the most impactful message in the scene was when Superman willingly admits a humble defeat, celebrating Kara as the champion of
