When we think about college all we think about is the degree we would get and the future we will live. But we don’t think of the real meaning of college. All we think about when we talk about college is the money we will earn with our career. Yet, I ask myself, is money going to make us happy forever? Yes, money is a necessity (evil necessity) and we can have all the materials we want, but what if we have it all? Now, what? We need to understand that college is more than just an education for a degree, is an experience –that will forever be with you. Students need to realize that college is to live big but also to live the present and not the future. Yes, our dream is to go to college in order to have a successful life (a common desire) however, we have be present as we attend college and not only think in the future but in what we can do now! We have our own culture where we are thought traditions and expectations. Sometimes we even live in a bubble we feel we fit in but that we don’t understand –this is where college plays a big role. A College is a place where students get educated in various ways, students have the opportunity to discover themselves and students also learned the importance of connecting with others.

It is obvious that one of the reasons’ college is for is to expand one’s knowledge. Every college will require all students to take specific classes such as English writing, math and at times history. This is one of the reasons I believe college is for, to expand students’ knowledge, because students should have the ability and opportunity to navigate different subjects that might not be part of their major but, useful for their future and a helpful way to think differently.
