Taking part in this unit has enabled me to use my verbal skills to exchange ideas with my fellow students. I am very self-conscious about my voice and will worry about whether or not I am speaking too loudly or saying inappropriate things to the other person. Being recently diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome has clarified to me the reason for the existence of these problems and I now worry a lot less about these things than I did before. On a professional level I am able to communicate technical details to people but when it comes time to socialise with my fellow students or co-workers I still find myself freezing up and moving into the background to avoid difficult situations. A lot of people would misinterpret this as shyness. During the course I had to make a verbal presentation to then class about how to set up a social media account. I
Utilitarianism is a moral theory that expresses the view that human well-being is the only good. When determining which action to take utilitarians desire to know which action will produce the greater overall human well-being. Utilitarians believe that everyone’s well-being is of equal value. A utilitarian’s own well-being is considered just as important, no more or less, than everyone else’s well-being. When considering what action to make for the benefit or everyone’s well-being, a utilitarian must first consider their audience. The audience of an action is everyone whose well-being may be increased or decreased by the action. Each member of the audience carries just as much importance as the next and all of the members should be considered as equals (Harris). Utilitarians believe it is best to seek the “greatest total utility” (Harris ). Utility has been defined

Interpersonal communication is both transactional and constitutive. Transactional means that communication is an on going process, while constitutive means that communication helps construct the reality of what is and what will be. The example qualifies as interpersonal communication because it follows the transactional communication model; the communication is qualitative in nature and it exemplifies communication competence, all of which demonstrates interpersonal communication.

In today’s society being able to communicate with others is important and as humans, we communicate through our language or dialect. However, depending on the environment a person was born in, he/she are taught a different dialect from other people. For instance, both my mother and father were born in China so they were taught the Chinese culture as they were growing up. This means they were both taught to write, read, and speak in Chinese from a young age. Eventually my mom moved to America when she was 12 years old and my dad moved here when he was 10 years old. So they had to learn the American culture so that they would be able to communicate with other people their age. On the other hand, I was born in America and was surrounded by American
