Impression management (IM) refers to the behaviors or actions an individual engages in to influence another’s impression of individuals. Impression management is commonly used in the workplace and has been proven to impact important outcomes within that setting. IM is commonly used to obtain promotions, employment, and positive appraisal. By delving deeper into these common conceptual characteristics, the researchers hope to discover the potential impact of IM in the workplace, how well it can be detected by others, demonstrate that common characteristics play a larger role than previously thought.

The HEXACO model of Personality was used to assist in proving that role dispositions play a larger role in explaining IM. The HEXACO model of Personality (an acronym of Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, Extraversion, Agreeable, Conscientiousness, and Openness to Experience) is a six-dimensional personality framework. The most prominent personality trait from the HEXACO and important to this study is the Honesty-Humility personality trait. A person with high honesty-humility is more sincere and honest, while a person with low honesty-humility is considered exploitative, status-striving, and manipulative.

Having documented the processes and controls, I am also responsible for cash management which includes collecting receipts of funds making funds available for disbursements timely and investing excess cash. To secure cash, I have processes in place for fraud, duplicate payments, timely receipt of funds, daily cash reconciliation and a five-year cash forecast which is tied to investment maturity date. With all these processes working I know where the Company stands daily with regards to cash availability.

Extraversion: I scored the same as the mean but lower than the community.

Honesty Humility: Sincerity, fairness, greed avoidance, and modesty. I scored the highest in this category. When dealing with cash you have to be as transparent as possible, it is the core product of all businesses. I protect the company’s cash the same way I do my personal cash. If you are doing a good job, someone might take notice and you will be rewarded. I am proud of what I do regardless of reward. I gain an inner satisfaction.
