In today’s society many people have completely thrown out all of their workplace ethics. People are no longer kind to each other and frankly just do not care about each other any more. How is our society supposed to keep moving forward if no one is kind to each other and no longer sensitive to each other’s feelings. People no longer think about how the things that they do can affect other people around them. Some people have even forgotten what it is like to be nice to people and appreciate what they do. Some very important workplace ethics are integrity, accountability, teamwork, and commitment. Having integrity is a big component in keeping the workplace moving smoothly throughout the day. It allows your boss to be able to trust you and know that they can always count on you to be honest and do the right thing at all times of the day. Accountability is also a big component in workplace ethics because your boss and coworkers can depend on you to actually show up at work and do your job. They will not expect to have to pick up your slack or discipline you because of tardiness or something like that. Being able to get along with your coworker is significant in being a good employee because it shows that you can be a good team player and be able to put aside personal difference to achieve a greater good. Being friendly can help more people at your workplace and people that come into your workplace a better vibe and feeling while in the place of business. Being able to apply all of these different ethics and skills to my own life is very important so that everyone is comfortable and feels good in and around the work environment. Your boss has to be able to trust and depend on you so that they know you will always be accountable, show up on time, and be able to turn in your work in a timely manner. I have seen this work in my own job shadowing experience when Doctor Butler deals with a difficult patient he demonstrates kindness and respect towards the patient and is able to accomplish the task at hand.
