Caesar was a Hero
Was Caesar a hero or a tyrant? Caesar did many things that show he was a hero, and a tyrant, but which was he really. Did Caesar deserved to be praised like he was, or assassinated? “A law authored by Caesar had been found, but not yet introduced, which would proclaim Caesar a living god.” Caesar did seem the type of person to be a tyrant, but what he actually did while he was in power was good for Rome.
Caesar was a good leader because he created a better Rome. Caesar conquered for Rome and expanded its already massive empire. Caesar was a war hero, “After his marvelous conquests of Gaul and Egypt, Julius Caesar had made himself consul for life, equivalent to emperor of Rome.” Caesar had created a very efficient Rome under his very efficient government. Caesar made the senate powerless, which was good because the senate was a terrible government. The senate just got caught up in their own political debates instead of governing Rome, “The Senate had ruled Rome poorly, caring more about their own political squabbles than the people, and now Caesar had taken their power.” Caesar did something great for Rome, he created a very good and efficient government that was only made up of him alone. Caesar created jobs for his people, and he fed the hungry and the poor. “The hungry hordes in the city were now given free bread. Caesar created jobs by building roads, temples, and aqueducts.” Caesar brought fresh water to the city through his aqueducts. “Fresh water flowed freely in fountains throughout the city. Sanitation, sewage, and food all were seemingly under the control of Caesar.” Caesar was a good leader, the assassins only killed him because they were selfish and wanted their power back, the only person who had more of a reason than that was Brutus. “Now, while the average Roman basked in Caesars rule, then Senate of Rome was furious.” Caesar was a dictator, but he was a good
