The Renaissance period began circa 1300 CE and ended approximately 1600 CE. This was the era when artwork and architecture was greatly valued and was a major part in life. The Renaissance began in Florence and then spread throughout Italy including Rome, Naples and Milan. Later it spread through Europe and covered the Dutch Republic and England. The Renaissance was the rebirth of Europe and will always be a big part in our lives.

Throughout history, the Renaissance period was defiantly the biggest movement in art, music and literature. The art we have today, we have learned skills off the artists of the Renaissance time and developed off them. Some of the artists which have really inspired artists today are Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. These two in particular were huge and famous artists who in their lifetimes have changed our appreciation for art. All of the art that we value today has been advanced over time from the amazing art from the Renaissance.

The architecture from the Renaissance had a very specific style which was incredibly new for the people in this period. The impact of the Renaissance changed the thinking and life. The society saw a rise in creativity, in ambition and in politics. During the Renaissance (the rebirth) achievement in art especially rose, though depending on where the Renaissance was, it was a different experience all around. Renaissance art in Italy and southern Europe had more of a grecian theme, while northern Renaissance focused more on life and mythology.
The Middle Ages was a time in history where everyone was faithful to religion as well as others. Also, in the Middle Ages, people were encouraged to always try their best; they were encouraged to strive for the highest achievement possible and to never give up. The Renaissance, however, was more focused on becoming matured and finding a way to be successful at everything one does. During this era, people strived to become all-sided men, also known as; renaissance men. This means they are not only successful in one type of art but in all types of art, as well as math, science, and literature. The Renaissance was a distinct period in time that was separated from the Middle Ages and began a new era.
The Renaissance started in Italy in the 14th century. It was referred to as the “rebirth” because it brought back attention to art and science. The Middle-Ages was really religion-dominated. The Renaissance turned the attention to being an individual and worldly experiences; they were the main themes of the Renaissance art movement. Art benefited from the patronage of such influential groups as Medici family of Florence, the Sforza family of Milan and the Popes Julius II and Leo X.
