Same sex marriages should not be banned because it is untraditional; but should be recognized like any other marriage involves love and it might be different but we all should be recognized as equals. For example, some people think that letting homosexual become an official union redefines the idea of marriage all together. (Rauch) Rauch states, “ I think the best definition of marriage is the one that most married people sign up for in their vows; “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, until death do us part.” Extending the boundaries to include gay couples does not weaken that definition-it reinforces it.” The gay community embodies the idea of loving no matter who they are we should not pass judgment on them because they are not the pretty picture of a happy ma and women behind their white picket fence with children. Most Americans often believe that same sex marriages will diminish the value of the marriage itself. Which is a false conclusion based on a bias premise.
In the end, everyone should be treated equal. It is just simply wrong to deny any human the right to marry someone of the same sex; it is unlawful, unjust, and unfair. In the future same sex marriage must be legal all over the United States. Same sex couples just want happiness just like couples of the opposite sex. We want our marriages to be treated the same way as any other marriage: No more, no less. We want to take care of our families & ensure that they are taken care of/get whatever benefits we are entitled to should we become sick or die. I don't understand why some marriages are honored and others are not. People should be able to wed when someone truly loves someone regardless of their sexual orientation. As far as I know gay marriage is not recognized because of religion.

Same-sex couples have been advocating for their rights for many years. If we are in a democratic society we should not be ignoring them. My recommendation for same-sex marriage is to allow all citizens to be married no matter their sexual preference.
Proponents argue that same-sex couples should have access to the same marriage benefits and public acknowledgment enjoyed by heterosexual couples and that prohibiting gay marriage is unconstitutional discrimination (ProCon, 2012). Ultimately, studies show that homosexual families are able to live just as productive, if not better off, than families of heterosexual parents. In order to guarantee an atmosphere of absolute religious liberty, this country's founders also mandated the strict separation of church and state (Anti Defamation League, 1999). In a country where marriage is declining and those who do marry are increasingly well- educated and well-to-do, it is a poor form of social protest to decline to administer legal marriages. Everybody needs these protections; a promise to God will not make a deadbeat parent pay child support.
Marriage is not something meant to be temporary. Marriage is a very serious and special thing that is a rite of passage for all people in a country that is meant to be free. Gay people are expected to pay taxes, work jobs alongside straight people, and live a normal life, except they are not allowed to get married. Marriage is about love, and love is different for everyone. Marriage is something that will assure equality and rights – all people have according to our Constitution.
Same marriage should be protected under the right to privacy as much as heterosexual marriage is, because after all, whether you are heterosexual or homosexual, what matters in regards to marriage is the yearn to spend the rest of your life with that person you love. Marriage rights are basic human rights. Giving marriage rights to homosexuals, not judging, and not blocking them out of the marriage institution, is simply accepting their human rights. Often people might think that a heterosexual couple is more “right” than a same sex couple, but that is not just. A ... ... middle of paper ... ...icle=4510&context=flr Epstein, R. A.
Denying gay marriage affects gay and lesbian couples and lets people think that is acceptable to discriminate against them. Even though same-sex couples are not natural, people should be able to get married to whomever they want no matter the gender because you can’t invariably choose who you fall in love with and everyone should be equal and not discriminated against. All over the nation gays are discriminated against for many reasons, they are asked various questions such as if they can raise kids, provide a stable environment, and if their child’s development is effected by their parent’s sexual orientation. Statistics show that children raised by homosexual couples thrive just as well, some even better than heterosexual couple’s children. Their families are not really divergent from any other traditional family.
Today, it would seem that every citizen in the United States has a right to be treated equally, with the same rights and privileges as anyone else. But, a continuously growing community of gay men and women in America would disagree. When a man and woman decide to get married, they are able to do so without many restrictions or barriers. If a same-sex couple wants to marry, there are laws preventing such actions. Without marriage, this legitimate couple is denied a right to a life th... ... middle of paper ... ...y.
Same-sex marriage would end stigmatization of homosexuals and discrimination against them. There are over one thousand rights same-sex couples are denied of. Marriage equality and these civil rights would consider all men to be treated equal again. The future of marriage equality relies on the legalization of same-sex marriage.
