What emotion does the guitar bring? What does the guitarist feel? The people gathered around listening to the acoustic melody? Playing allows so many emotions to flow in and out the body, connecting the body and soul. The moment my fingers strummed the exquisite chord, was the moment body and guitar was connected. My passion for playing the guitar started at age ten, fifth grade. At the time my school was Spotswood Elementary. Music class was my favorite subject, absolutely adored it. My teacher would play the guitar for the class every now and then, and every time the acoustic melody reached my ears, overjoyed with happiness, would dance in spirit. I asked him if he could teach me to play the beautiful instrument. Hearing him say “yes i will teach you”, was the best thing that happened to me, but no one told me how toilsome this was going to be. …show more content…

In class, being the only one holding the elegant instrument, felt special, but it also made me angry and upset. Learning some of the chords and strumming patterns frustrated me a lot. I remembered myself going home to cry to my mom and telling her “why can’t I play?”. It was terrible, despite that, it was a source of motivation, a stream of encouragement to suck it up, go back in, and continue playing.
