My progression as a promotional intern at Cumulus Broadcasting has been vast. Even, within the short duration of the summer semester I have obtain a great deal of knowledge in my field. As a Radio, TV, and Film major I had the perceived notion that the radio entertainment industry was glamourous. Although it wasn’t what I imagined, it fascinated me that the radio industry thrived due to thorough communication, planning, execution, professionalism, and leadership. From the beginning of Week 1 to the end of Week 12, I have increased my repertoire by participating in events around the community, creating content for Cumulus social media pages, and conveying confidence on-air. The other interns and I assisted with a very busy summer for Cumulus Broadcasting. The summer consisted of Country USA, Rock USA, EAA, and many more remotes. At these events, I was responsible for interacting with potential clients and listener. By adding manpower and compartmentalizing the interns, it allowed these promotional events to run efficiently. The classes that Impacted my success in this internship were Professional Skills, Communication, and Introduction to Radio History. These particular courses gave me the foundation to communicate effectively with professional as well as background knowledge in my respective internship. Furthermore, the project that impacted me was my Marketing Proposal because it made me work efficiently with others to reach a common goal. This internship has definitely influenced my future career goals. It affected my goals by increasing my professional network exponentially. These relationships could very well dictate my career path. So even after the summer ends, I will still continue to communicate with Cumulus Radio. Also, by evaluating my skillset; it allowed me to identify my strengths and weaknesses. Which in the long run will assist me in becoming a well-rounded employee. In addition, by experiencing the multiple departments of a radio station, it helped me pinpoint what career I would like to
