Chicago Beach Observation Report

At the beach we picked up trash all along it. What I observed of it was that even in a nicer neighbor you still see people littering the beach. The issue that is being addressed is that the beaches in Chicago are still polluted with garbage that people just leave behind. While, in some beaches are cleaner than others many do not throw away their mess even in walking distance from the garbage can which I found astonishing,
This community service clarified ab interest I have such as pollution at the beach but also in the lake. I am a big advocate for the need to change in order to improve the environment. While humans do produce and excess amount of trash by keeping the lake clean will help the ocean. This will not only help the environment on land but sea since many animals that live in the ocean are vulnerable to the trash they get stuck in. I didn’t smell or hear anything they surprised me. My experience differs from then my own expectations. What I liked about the experience such as finding time to bond with the line sisters which I believe is important. Keeping trash of the beach and most importantly of the water is not a new concept by any means we’ve all been taught to clean up after ourselves and throw everything away that we did not use. However, many decide to just leave it there even if it means it will end up in the water. Other work that is currently happening to address this issue is most other organization who focuses on keeping the beaches clean. The city also makes an effort to tell people to keep the beaches clean. It is supposed to be a safe and clean place for people to relax and enjoy the sun.
