Recommended: Environmental issues trash in oceans

At the beach we picked up trash all along it. What I observed of it was that even in a nicer neighbor you still see people littering the beach. The issue that is being addressed is that the beaches in Chicago are still polluted with garbage that people just leave behind. While, in some beaches are cleaner than others many do not throw away their mess even in walking distance from the garbage can which I found astonishing,
This community service clarified ab interest I have such as pollution at the beach but also in the lake. I am a big advocate for the need to change in order to improve the environment. While humans do produce and excess amount of trash by keeping the lake clean will help the ocean. This will not only help the environment on land but sea since many animals that live in the ocean are vulnerable to the trash they get stuck in. I didn’t smell or hear anything they surprised me. My experience differs from then my own expectations. What I liked about the experience such as finding time to bond with the line sisters which I believe is important. Keeping trash of the beach and most importantly of the water is not a new concept by any means we’ve all been taught to clean up after ourselves and throw everything away that we did not use. However, many decide to just leave it there even if it means it will end up in the water. Other work that is currently happening to address this issue is most other organization who focuses on keeping the beaches clean. The city also makes an effort to tell people to keep the beaches clean. It is supposed to be a safe and clean place for people to relax and enjoy the sun.     In Indianapolis, I see people toss trash out of their car, throw trash onto the ground, and have seen somebody aim for a garbage can, noticed that they missed it, and just left it on the ground. One person throwing garbage on the ground might not think much of it, however, when that piece trash collects other trash, they start to build up and soon form big loads of junk. For example, I am sure people never supposed that if they littered, that their trash would eventually end up in some kind of body of water. Typically, no one thinks about it until they actually go to a sea or lake and see how disgusting it looks because of the people who were too lazy to throw their garbage away. To worsen matters, littering has become very mutual, which must be stopped because in most instances, trash is not disposed of appropriately, which eventually leads to innocent individuals having to spend money on cleaning up. Some people know about the littering in Indianapolis, but most do not care, and that is only because they are not aware of the consequences it can bring or the way it appears to others. DDT is still highly concentrated in the South Bay area and still contaminating different species of fish. Even after more than 80 years DDT, a toxic insecticide, is still very concentrated and during upwellings, DDT particles come back up and continue to harm marine life. If humans are careless about what is thrown on the floor or sprayed on lawns, it can lead to disastrous affects when it comes to the condition of the ocean's ecosystems, and can endanger life itself leading to a problem that only we can mend.
