Understanding where the employee is coming from and what they are looking for from the company is vital. For example, if an employee is not looking for a financial benefit, but is searching for more of a challenge, management should nurture that desire and create an environment in which the employee can grow and progress in the company. Alternatively, an employee may be overwhelmed in their current position and is more than happy at a lower level.
What types of discipline issues have you observed here? Discipline issues observed at SelectCare include tardiness and underproduction. Employees could be using the internet for personal use, rather than working. There are however no major discipline issues that SelectCare has faced thus far. Ramos explains that SelectCare follows progressive discipline, where first the issue will be discussed verbally, then written, followed by a time frame for the employee to improve. If by this time the employee does not improve, the employee is terminated. The employee handbook entails all the company policies and practices that SelectCare follows.
