The issue that is been happening in our surrounding is environmental degradation. Environmental degradation began when Industrial Revolution was established, when people started using fossil fuels to run the machine, cars and transportation which now gives off pollution to the air and added more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and had negatives impact to environment that causing environmental degradation. The effects of environmental degradation are human health, poverty and loss of biodiversity. Due to environmental degradation, water is being polluted by chemicals and run off that causing reduction of water quality. All people across the globe are defending with water; everything you do each day have to do with water. When the water has chemicals and being polluted, it will affect your health by drinking and Utsav uses for cooking. Furthermore, poverty is another one because when the land is not in a good condition, the land will experience soil erosion that will affect the growth of the plants; that will affect the farmers in certain area. Another effect is loss of biodiversity, environmental degradation causing natural causes that affecting species and lead to extinction of species because there no place to go or food to eat and their habitat affecting. I made some research and I find an article that supports my claim. Sonia Madaan is the author of the article and she’s been studying environmental degradation which provides information about the effects of environmental degradation. According to Sonia Madaan, states that “the environmental degradation affects are human health, poverty, and loss of biodiversity etc...” (3) What we did to the environment is giving us the effects of it to make us realize and learn something from it, but we actually close our eyes.
