Analysis: Northern Rush faces four small business competitors. With their shipping prices to Canada and the fluctuating exchange rates driving the price up, U.S.-based DormCo and DormItUp won’t present as much of a threat to Northern Rush as the Canadian competitors. It was in this vastly unoccupied territory that the American dream was forever changed and California emerged as a powerful state busting at the seams. The Transcontinental railroad could be defined as the most monumental change in America in the 19th century. The railroad played a significant role in westward expansion and on the growth and development of the American economy (Gillon p.653). However, the construction of the transcontinental railroad may not have occurred if not for the generous support of the federal government. The federal government provided land grants and financial subsidies to railroad companies to ensure the construction. The transcontinental railroad contributed to the formation of industry and the market economy in America and forever altered the American lifestyle.
The main reason for the transcontinental railroads to be built was to bring the east and west together. The building of these railroads caused huge economic growth throughout the United States. The railroad created opportunities for everyone across the US.
The Oregon Trail had an extensive impact on early America. It spread the population with approximately 50,000 people moving 2,000 miles west. The trail conceded of a group of paths. The route started in Missouri and finished in Oregon. The journey was 2,000 miles long and last about 5 months. With about 10 grave per mile by the end of a 30 year rage it was the longest graveyard in America. What was so bad with where they were at that they were willing to risk it all? A Connecticut minister, Horace Bushnell, once said that the industrialization of the United States north produced a “complete revolution” in Americans’ “life and manners.” The complete revolution that Bushnell speaks of was an era of industrialization triggered by a population growth, an increase in literacy rates, and the development of labor-saving technologies in the northern region of the United States. This dramatic economic and social transformation instigated a series of outcomes, both positive and negative, for the United States during the early to mid nineteenth century. Many aspects of life for United States citizens were changing, such as the growing population in the north. In addition, women and people of color were finding new reasons to fight for equality. Accordingly, the growth of cities and urban life, the role of women in the industrial workplace and their subsequent call for equality, as well as the strengthened societal boundary between whites and people of color are three main effects that were brought about because of the industrialization in the United States north between 1800 and 1855.

“Coming together is a beginning;keeping together is progress;working together is success”(Ford 1). This was once said by the industrialist Henry Ford, also known as the creator of Ford cars. He feels that working together and starting new things is always a positive thing. The gold rush was a time when many people went west to look for gold. People left everything behind hoping for a better life. They took a huge risk but it paid off. The gold rush had more of a positive effect on America because, it colonized the new part of the U.S. and gave a jump start to industrial revolution.
