According to the article, some Boston citizens disagreed and decided to protest the British tax on the tea that was being imported to the colonies. Most acts to tax the colonies fell through, but this one was successful to demonstrate the power of parliament to tax the colonies. Even though the price of British tea was cheaper, the colonists did not want to pay the taxes on it. This information supports the reason why the colonists wanted to act upon the British.

The bad event that happened between the two before the Boston Tea Party was called the Boston Massacre. The result of this was many people were injured and five were killed. This was also put into play because of the Sons of Liberty. Their leader was Samuel Adams. After the Boston Tea party was the Boston Port Act. The Boston Harbor was closed until the colonists could pay back all the tea the British had lost. This article discusses the causes leading up the Boston Tea Party and the bad relationship that already withstood between the British and Americas. It also explains the actions that had to take place after the incident.

Many people believe that the Boston Tea Party arose just because of the Tea Act that came into play in 1773, but in-fact, this major statement arose from two issues surrounding the British Empire in 1765. The first of the issues was that the British East India Company was at risk of going under and the Parliament was finding ways to bring it back. The second issue was that there was a continuing dispute about the extent of the Parliament’s authority. Many colonists believe that the Parliament went overboard with their power and the people were concerned about the future. Attempting to resolve these two major issues, the North Ministry only worsened the problem and produced a showdown that would eventually result in revolution.
In 1773, the Tea Act placed taxes on tea, threatening the power of the colonies. The colonies, however, fought back by pouring expensive tea into the Boston harbor in an event now known as the Boston Tea Party. The enraged Parliament quickly passed the Intolerable Acts, shutting down the port of Boston and taking control over the colonies.
The number one reason that the colonists began protests, and boycotts, against the British was because they believed their natural rights as citizens were being violated. After the french and Indian War Great Britain was in massive debt. So the King began to tax the colonies. For example the heavy taxes in the colonies led to the Boston Massacre and to the Boston Tea Party. The British then adopted the policy of mercantilism.
The Sons of Liberty answered the call. In an act of defiance, “a few dozen of the Sons of Liberty, opposing new British laws in the colonies, systematically dumped three shiploads of tea into Boston harbor. They acted to prevent the royal authorities from collecting taxes on that import” (Bell). This left Parliament infuriated. They did what they only knew how to do and put a tighter squeeze on the colonists.

In the first few months of 1773 the British East India Company found it was sitting on large stocks of tea that it could not sell in England. It was on the verge of bankruptcy, and many members of Parliament owned stock in this company. (USA, 1) The Tea Act in 1773 was an effort to save it. The Tea Act gave the company the right to export its merchandise without paying taxes. Thus, the company could undersell American merchants and monopolize the colonial tea trade. By October, the Sons of Liberty in New York, Philadelphia, and Boston threatened tea imports and pledged a tea boycott.
In the mid eighteenth century colonist of the new world started to rebel against Britain. Living in the colonies cost Britain a great deal of money Colonist did not like that they were being taxed. There were several acts passed that angered the colonists. For example, the Stamp Act, the Stamp Act was passed in 1765 taxed all legal documents including newspapers and other printed materials. The Stamp Act affected all that bought printed materials and it did not affect the poor because it was not too expensive. The colonist started to rebel and boycotted “No taxation without representation.” The colonists rebelled in many ways one of them was the Boston Tea Party. The British were trying to control the Americans entirely, with their monopoly on trade, and also thought that the Americans would do everything they demanded them to do. The colonists soon figured out Great Britain's angle on the situation. That was, they didn't understand why they were forced to pay taxes to the British, when they had no say in Britain's actions.

Due to the redundant acts in the 1760s, the American Colonies demanded to revolt from Great Britain. The colonies would either fight or resist the actions , or taxes placed upon them by the British. They revolted due to the Boston Tea Party of 1773, and the Boston Massacre of 1770. All of these taxes were placed upon the colonies to help Great Britain pay off the debt of the French and Indian War. The colonist were resentful towards the British because they did not have a say in the British Parliament, which led to the saying “no taxation without representation” in approximately 1761 by James Otis. The British Parliament was the Congress of Britain, which passed the laws and taxes on the colonies. Overall, the colonies would either fight or resist the taxes passed on them, which would then lead to the American Revolution.
During the late 1700’s almost up to the 1800’s, the U.S was going through a phase where colonists were dealing with taxation without representation by Parliament. This angered many colonists during this time. This caused many colonists to rebel against the British. One night in Massachusetts, rebellious colonists started to dump tea into the harbor in order to protest against taxation without representation. This event was called the Boston Tea Party. Parliament found out about the Boston Tea Party. As a response to the Boston Tea Party, Parliament passed the Intolerable Acts.

When referring to this separation from Britain as a beginning rather than a finish it shows unity and the start of something great. When the American Revolution is discussed there are a plethora of affecting aspects that are thought of as important roles. One of these many factors that changed the American Revolution was the Tea Act of 1773. The Tea Act altered the American Revolution by affecting the Boston Tea Party and the unity in the colonies.
