Authentic Leadership Strengths

Three strengths that I have as a leader are 1) Finding the most efficient path for the team to follow and coaching them on best practices from the ground up 2) Once I’ve coached my people up I trust in them and delegate effectively 3) I make everyone feel like they matter and create buy in on why they are valuable to the team.
My strengths as a leader really follow Authentic Leadership as developed by Bill George in the book “Authentic Leadership”. Which direction are we going and how will we get there. I created the purpose of the company and now I need to lead people to the destination. I don’t need to do every job and some functions are outsourced entirely with only an outcome given as direction. But for direct reports my ability to see the desired outcome and the most efficient way to accomplish this and make it repeatable is my number one leadership skill. After
I have discovered the path I’m excellent at breaking down very complex processes into manageable steps for anyone to follow and be able to repeat. Many times my employees will have a great deal of personal doubt about their abilities to perform the task to create the desired outcome. But once we are done training, they have an epiphany of understanding and then have as much belief in themselves as I did at the beginning.

I make everyone feel like they matter and create buy in on why they are valuable to the team. In my company an employee doesn’t have the satisfaction of taking a client from start to finish. A client is handed to an employee for their task that needs to be processed and then handed of to another employee for the next steps. It’s very much like white collar manufacturing.
Because the employees don’t have the thirty thousand foot view and can’t see how everything fits together this can cause, burn out, lack of vision, lack of care and not understanding how what they are doing matters. In our weekly meetings I bring them the stories of the people they have helped and how it has changed their lives. Because we do our jobs well most of the time these are success stories. But occasionally they are stories of how we missed something or weren’t diligent and the ripple effect of our actions created a poor outcome. I can give the team a review by the numbers with a great job we hit our number or we missed it by X but the impact they are having in people's lives and then relating to them how many of those stories we need to create a week or month to be successful has a far greater
