Students are at school for 6 hours a day and teachers still give us homework. When teachers give us homework they are taking away more of our free time. There have been times when I have been working on homework from 3:00 in the afternoon to midnight. Instead of spending my afternoon on so much homework, I could have been outside or spending time with my family. Homework keeps students from spending time with their families, causes unneeded stress on their lives and causes health problems.

Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. I agree that we should still have homework. However, I think there should be some adjustments made concerning that topic, but we’ll get to that later. First, before anything else, I’ll list the not so nice effects that come from homework. To be specific, when I mean that we should still have homework, I mean the ones that actually matter and apply to what we are currently or later learning.
