Analysis of Performance - Netball
Activity to be analysed: Netball Game (WA)
Skills and Techniques Required:
To play a sound game of Netball, you need a range of both attacking
and defensive skills. There are many other aspects, which are required
to ensure a good Netball player. For example agility. This is a very
important component, as agility is needed in a variety of
circumstances. A Netball player needs to be able to get free and
receive a pass from their team member. To do this, a high level of
agility is required. Also, a high level of co-ordination is needed to
be a good Netball player. This is because, it is sometimes necessary
to receive a pass whilst running and also landing with the correct
footwork, and therefore co-ordination is an essential and important
component.
Balance is also a key aspect of a Netball player. The ability to
maintain equilibrium is needed to receive passes that may not have
come whilst in a comfortable position. Another important aspect of
Netball is the reaction time of a player. For example, situations may
occur when a player will need to react, either to a mistake made by
the opponents or by a member of her own team. Endurance also plays an
important role to many members on the team. For example, a centre
player would need a lot of endurance and also cardiovascular strength,
as they will be required on all three thirds of the court. Also, speed
is also necessary to different players as sometimes it is essential
that a player will need to recover the ball. For example, in order for
a player to win a toss up she will have a better reaction time than
her opponent. Reaction time is also useful when dodging, intercepting
and shooting. There are also a variety of passes that can be used in
Netball, for example if you notice that most members of the opponents
are quite tall, it is wise to concentrate and mainly use bounce
passes. If you notice that most members are short, you can do overhead

When you play a sport it matters on how the team can play together, not how an idividual can play.
Oklahoma State University Department of Theatre’s production of What I Did Last Summer tells the self-revolutionary story of a young boy named Charlie and the struggles he faces the summer his father is away at war. Although the play seems to center mainly around Charlie, many of the other characters learn valuable lessons and a change in their perspectives is noticeable throughout the play. With it’s relatable characters, unique humor, and discussion of relevant topics, What I Did Last Summer is a play that can not only be enjoyed by all, but also has the potential to open the audience’s eyes to new viewpoints.
A course in the sociology of sport and physical activity should be part of an undergraduate curriculum in a kinesiology program because social issues that impact sports and athletes are often overlooked within kinesiology program despite playing an important role within sports. Kinesiology programs tend to focus on the impact of sport and importance of sport and physical activity and could use the insight that sociology of sport and physical activity can provide. The more we know about the social issues around sport and physical activity, and how to limit them, the more we can understand sport and how to improve it and the equality within it.
In sports, you make split second decisions based off your reaction times. If a basketball team were in a game and one teammate was able to get free from his opponent for a second but his teammate with the ball could not reaction fast enough, he would miss his opportunity to score than play. According to the test takes by the American Association of Health, if a man and a women were put into the same predicament, the man would do better than the
Sophia knew that she had the skill and technique to play, but because she was a girl, she had to work twice as hard to prove herself. Although Sophia put in her maximum effort, when the coach posted the new team roster at the end of the week Sophia did not find her name on the
Though this movie was made to portray the life in Korea 110 years ago, it really resonated with me because I found it very similar to life in present-day Nigeria—where I am from. The impoverishment of the people and the clear distinction in the social classes was all too familiar. I also observed similar customs as well as unity of the people through a sport. This paper would be addressing the similarity and some of the factors in the movie that I could really relate to or have personally experienced.

Performance psychology involves the process of facilitating the development of skills needed by the performer during his time to shine in a performance. Also, the process is almost entirely related to the events prior to the performance since they are the foundation of the desired result. This preparation involves practicing not only physically, but also mentally, psychologically, spiritually, and emotionally. In fact, the physical aspect of a performance has much less bearing than the mind and soul aspects. Tennis is a perfect example of this. No matter how much a player practices, if in the face of a match the player becomes too nervous, all of his body will freeze and will make unforced errors very easily. That used to happen quite often at the beginning of my matches until I managed to train my mind to stay focused on playing rather than winning. I also remember reading a book about tennis when I was about 8, and there was a question that said something like, “How much of a tennis match is technical, tactical, physical, and mental?” and several professional players answered by saying that the mental part contributes with just about the entire game. At first, since I had not experienced a real, challenging match before, I thought to myself, “No, that’s not right. It’s 25% each. It makes sense; it’s math”. Looking back I realize how silly my comment was because I had no idea what a true performance was like, and that the physical aspect although important, is more relevant in the preparation for a match. Any performance is made up of various smaller elements that each contribute to the big picture, just like the piece of a puzzle; however, each one has a unique placement that no other piece can fill in.

Women in Sports Challenges appear to be part of the human experience. In the course of history, very little has come easily. The progress that women have made in sport in the United States over the course of the last 100 years seems remarkable for the amount achieved in so little time. In relation to the other advances made in this century, including men's sport, that achievement dims. While women have made great advances, they haven't, in comparison, come that far.
