Many social problems should be nipped in the bud in order to prevent long-term disasters. Abortion is no exception to this rule. Abortion is considered to be legal in some countries. Although it is illegal in Thailand, the law could not stop people from taking the procedure covertly. There are many reasons that support abortion to be legal in Thailand. A one legal abortion limit should be permitted to give a chance to people for better well-being of individuals and society.

First of all, people will still undergo abortion even if it is illegal, but a one legal abortions limit can ensure the safety of the pregnant mothers. There are many underground places that do the termination procedure. “Women will end up opting for unsafe abortions if the health system does not provide abortion services”, said Sutham Pinjaroen from the Prince of Songkla Univerity’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department (Pinjaroen, 2013). Abortion is a sensitive process and it requires proper tools and certified doctor to conduct. There is no guarantee that the underground place will do abortion safely. In addition, women are much safer with the limit on abortion. The risk of maternal death is doubled after the second abortions and triple after the third times (Eilliot, 2012). Therefore, a one legal abortion limit can ensure the safety of pregnant women.

Secondly, women should have right to make their own decisions. "A woman who needs an abortion is at a fork in the road," said Dr. Linda Prine, the medical director of the Reproductive Health Access Project (Prine, 2013).
