Preparation of landscaped pedestrian paths and roofed over and attached to mosques from residential areas and places of public attention around the mosque. C. Proposal Adding of Landscape in Shaped of Education and Cautions This recommendation is aimed to overcome the issues and problems related to the function of Landscaping inside the surrounding area of Shah Alam City Center. Within beautify and decorate city space with landscaping, it is necessary to take into account the effective functioning of the urban landscapes. The existence of landscapes not only to decorate space in city but also provide benefits to the public in the form of education and a memorial to the Creator. Here are a few steps to set up the landscapes inside urban areas to be more cost-effective: i. Improve the image and atmosphere tasawwur Islam through street furniture that fits more with signs, landmarks and statues praising the Creator and displays a word of advice and holy words in all the major routes and strategic areas, increase the map instructions and directions to the mosques and important place placed in appropriate locations that reflect Islam over …show more content…
In improving the economy of the Muslims some of recommendation as follows: A. Consensus principles Islam emphasizes the spirit of cooperation in order to reduce conflicts between pairs of economic units such as an employer with employees, vendors and buyers, producers with consumers and others in the economic system which is based on faith. This is because all economic units have the same goal which is devoted to the values of justice and solidarity, which is demanded by Islam. B. Principle Istikhalaf In principle, it should be underlined that the ownership of the property in a way that pleases Allah SWT, the use of property for the welfare of its owner and that all things in this world is absolute property of Allah
An Oxford University graduate, Jonathan Swift, in his article, A Modest Proposal, proposes a solution to Irelands growing poverty in the 18th century by proposing the selling and eating of innocent babies. Swift’s purpose is to state the benefits that the poor would gain from selling their one year old children to the wealthy to eat them. He takes on a concerning tone in order to convince the people of Ireland to consider and adopts his obscene plan.
Since the beginning of the 19th century, America has had to deal with the on going
She also introducing new urban building standards. This this article she talks about, the idea some people have of tearing it down and rebuilding. She also talks about ideas people have about some parts of towns. In Boston, she talks about the area of North End, and the change that it was over gone. During her second visit to this area, she discovered that it had changed. She talked to other about it, although the statistic were higher than the city, the people still saw it as a slum. They felt that they needed to tear it down in order to build something better. This leads to the conclusion that the urban planners to do understand that the people of the city need. They have ideas that were developed years ago that they are still using. These ideas do not take account what the people want. The author also introducing new ideas of a perfect city to live in and what it would look like. The idea of a garden city was introduced. This city would be built around a park. Although the new ideas sounded great they could not be put into place today. The idea of a Garden City is something that sounds nice, but it is not possible in society today. Today a city should reflect economic status, and in order to achieve this the city should be big, and convey an image of power. A city that has aspects of nature in it would not convey that image. That upkeep of a city of that kind would also be difficult. The do understand the author's point of view. The planners often times do not take into account the desires of the people. The town that I grow up in want to become more urbanized. In order to do this, they are building a large shopping center. This shopping center is located in the canyon rim. This canyon rim has been important the people for many years. We come to the area to walk, what bass jumpers, and enjoy the scenic views. This new shopping center took away this area. Many of the people
Landscape architects have been finding ways to solve the heat island effect which describes that dense urban areas are hotter than nearby rural areas because of the amount of heat the structures absorb throughout the day. To counteract these issue landscape architects has created min gardens, as well as, parks strategically placed within the cities to help reduce the amount the buildings absorb while cool c the city at the same time. The park created have other uses than just cool they are also used in the air quality and production within the urbanized cities. The dense layouts of cities cause a limit of breathable air to enter it and so to counteract this landscape architects use the already built parks and garden to help produce air within the city. Both architects and landscape architects use native plants differently in scale but have a common goal for the betterment of man; however, they do have one major similarity in the use of native

Most of New Urbanism projects promote interconnected streets, but street is much more than a void space between two buildings. For example, the high streets in Breakfast Point, Wentworth Point and Edmondson Park are quite inactive. Instead, in order to enhance sense of place and strengthen the community, the street should offer activities as well as park and
How to create an environment suitable for human living when resources are limited is a challenging problem for modern society. My strong interest in photography and art has compelled me to become especially observant toward the relationship between human beings and the environment. I have come to realize that the environment we live in has suffered much damage from pollution and lacks competent planning, making it difficult to find beautiful scenery to photograph or sketch. I began to think that I could make use of my artistic gift, concern about, and interest in the environment by entering the field of landscape design and putting my effort into beautifying our surroundings. Therefore, after graduating from high school, I entered the Department of Landscape Architecture at ABC University.
Urban Greening can be generally defined as the combined process of growing, conserving and management of different types of vegetation in different areas of the city for social, economic and environmental benefits (Byrne et al., 2014). Urban greening can be synonymously used with the term urban greenspace also considered as a combination of a many green areas in a city, (Roy et al., 2010). These include all types of playing fields, court yards, resident’s gardens, wild vegetation, cemeteries, green roofs, vacant lots, nature conservation sites and areas offering different recreational activities, (Harnik, 2010). Most green areas are made up of vegetated public and private spaces, (URGE Team, 2004).
Cities all over the world are developing. As war ended in 1942, a significant number of people move to the city because they want to improve life. This urbanization process is causing a number of problems and should be met by sustainable development policies. In the beginning, it is important to know the definition of sustainable development. There are some definitions for sustainable development, but simply they say that sustainable development is a development which using resources now and preserving them for future generations (Adams, 1999, p.137). This concept has been agreed internationally at a Rio Conference in 1992 to be implemented by all government policies which mostly known as “Agenda 21” principles (Adams, 1999, p.141). This paper will show that traffic jams and housing problems caused by urbanization can be met by sustainable development policies. The structure of this paper will first explain the situation that leads to traffic jams and housing problems. Next, it will elaborate the sustainable development solutions, implications for the solutions, and evaluations how effective the sustainable development solutions solved the problems.
This report will investigate the impacts of urbanisation in new Delhi. Urbanisation is occurring in new Delhi and brings along a range of problems such as slums and water pollution. It is important to study these impacts because if we do not find a solution to these problems they will get worse and the city of new Delhi could suffer serious environmental and economic problems. This report will make recommendations on how to help make the process of urbanisation more sustainable.
Development of megacities is increasing. This can be seen that 28 cities of 28 countries become megacities in 21 century. We focus on three kinds of development in megacities; they are economic development, human development, and sustainable development. Economic development concern on the improvement of economic activities to invest the consumption, human development concern on the individual matter such as self-development, the relations among human beings in all aspects, and human rights, and sustainable development concerns on economic, environmental and social objectives that should be balance between the needs of present and needs of future. And Jakarta is one of the examples of development of megacities in developing countries.
Indeed, many global cities face compelling urban planning issues like urban sprawl, population, low density development, overuse of non-renewable natural recourses, social inequities and environmental degradation. These issues affect the cities themselves, the adjacent regions and often even globally. The resulting ecological footprint upsets the balance in adjacent rural and natural areas. Unplanned or organic development leads to urban sprawl, traffic problems, pollution and slums (as evident in the case of Mumbai city). Such unplanned development causes solid waste management and water supply to fall inadequate. Urban sprawl gives rise to low density development and car dependent communities, consequently leading to increased urban flooding, low energy efficiency, longer travel time and destruction of croplands, forests and open spaces for development.
With the development of urbanization, an increasing number of social problems have emerged. These problems will decelerate the urban development, however, there are many ways in which sustainable development can reduce the impact of these urbanization problems. “Sustainable development seeks to improve the quality of human life without undermining the quality of our natural environment” (Adams, W.M. 1999). Actually, sustainable development can partly solve the urbanization problems, for it can reduce the impact of the problems such as traffic jam, housing shortage and severe pollution, but it is difficult to completely solve these problems in a short time.
The first step is to scope and identify study area which should be carried out consistent with the landscape impact assessment scoping methodology. The study area of this paper is environment, particularly landscape and heritage sites sector. The second step is to identify the key environmental resources and describing their features mentioned in step 1. Using a hierarchical classification of landscape, key landscape environmental resources should be identified considering coherence of character within each resource and distinctiveness of character among resources. In addition, to accurately assess the character of a key landscape environmental resource, it is necessary to identify and describe the features of the landscape. Those features which should be identified here are Pattern, Tranquility, Cultural, and Land Cover. The third step is to appraise landscape environmental capital by assessing four landscape indicators which are Scale it Matters, Rarity, Importance and Substitutability. In particular, it is all about assessing the geographical scale of effect of matters to both policy makers and local stakeholders; assessing whether the landscape features being evaluated prior to impact appraisal are commonplace to the locality or scarce; assessing the importance of specific feature at high,
The Benefits of Greening a City Sustainable development is a major world issue in recent development. Its main idea is to meet the needs of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, greening of cities is a very distinctive practice of this idea. Practical measures include planting tress along road side, increase the greening area of the city like increase the number and area of urban parks and perhaps country park too; setting law to restrict environmental degradation such as the release of air pollution by cars, factories, also the treatment of solid and liquid waste before discharge. Having low cost for maintenance and replacing new things is one of the most obvious benefits of greening a city. Due to the increase in vegetation, the air pollutants such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide of the city decreases, the formation of acid rain decrease, destruction by acid rain and acidic rain to buildings and roads that made of concrete decreases.
