I have three main objectives that I hope to implement in my classroom through my approach and teaching style. I want to instill a sense of courage and love of learning in my students. I will work to actively engage my students in the learning process and encourage them to be active participants in their community, state, and country. Finally, I hope to have my students go out into the world with an understanding of diversity and the knowledge that we are all unique and no two people are the same. Ultimately, I feel that striving for these objectives in my classroom will help my students to be well-rounded individuals who are prepared to go and make their mark on the world in a positive way. I could evaluate how well I reached my classroom objectives through my practices by surveying my students in the beginning as well as the end of the year and see the changes and differences in how they respond. In addition, I could reflect on the success of my students and decide if I positively impacted and inspired them to give their one hundred percent at all times and if this showed academically as well as socially. I could also contemplate my own feelings and decide if my objectives were met and if the approaches and instructional practices I utilized were effective enough to reach my students. After reading the book “Perspectives on Learning” I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge on not only how to become a teacher, but what it takes in order to become a successful teacher. The biggest message I gained from the reading is that there is more than just one type of learning style. This book has taught me many theories, strategies, and skills that are useful in the teaching field. The book gave multiple perspectives on learning and encouraged different types of facilitated learning. Every student learns a different way and there is not one way that works best for everyone. In conclusion, the ideas presented here are an overview of my personal beliefs regarding education. I expect that experience may cause me to add to, delete or otherwise alter some of these views. It is my desire to continue to learn from my instructors, peers and ultimately my students so that I may become a well-rounded and effective educator. My Quality Classroom Goal is to focus on the three conditions of quality work. I saw these three conditions as the common thread running through all of lessons of this course. In this essay, I will explain my educational philosophy—the set of beliefs, principles, and precepts that make up the foundation of my conduct as a teacher. As a future educator, I have many goals. My first goal would be to never overpower my students. Being a teacher should not be a job, it should be a passion. Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years. I always knew that teaching would be the career for me, especially when I began working in the school system as a substitute secretary. I loved working in the school environment; coming in contact with children everyday made me realize how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students.
