Have you ever been bullied in school? Have you ever known a person who was bullied before in his life? Do you know that people who are bullied in school can grow up to have depression or social problems? Bullying was and still is one of the biggest problems schools have from a long time ago. To bully is to make fun of, tease or harass someone who is vulnerable or just younger. As a matter of fact, the victims of bullying and the bullies are turned up to have some serious issues when they become adults. In an article published by Ron Banks in 2013, “Educational Resource Information Center”, he explained how bullied victims and bullies are unknown by the authority members in schools. According to Banks:
Studies indicate that bullies often come from homes where physical punishment is used, where the children are taught to strike back physically as a way to handle problems, and where parental involvement and warmth are frequently lacking. Students who regularly display bullying behaviors are generally defiant or oppositional toward adults, antisocial, and apt to break school rules (2013).
For that reason, they have the idea that everything can be solved by power, and being tougher than younger and weaker people is a perfect way to show they are in charge. A number of experts indicate that boy or even girls, who behave as bullies are often suffer from some serious problems. First, their self-esteem is lower than normal. Self-esteem is who they have confidence on their selves. For example, if they felt they were insulted in anyway, their feelings turn to be very negative and they try to increase it by bully others. Second, their attitude depends on their personality, like if they had an authoritarianism personality, the desire to feel their selves in control. Or they might have a psychopath disorders that force them to become bullies. Third, difficulties in managing their anger is one commonly problem bullies have. Some studies shows that bullies have few complicated issues to manage their anger. It appears that they have no control on anger more than normal people. In result, they get angry quickly if they saw or heard something that they don’t like and that’s drive them to bully others. Which it has to be controlled by them to prevent wrong
