Essay On Sustainable Environment

933 Words2 Pages

Introduction Having a sustainable environment is essential to the success of any nation. In fact, lack thereof compromises the possibilities of an economy breaking even due to the inadequacies caused by environmental instability. As such, it is essential to care for the environment by embracing acceptable living standards that do not jeopardize the survival of plants and animals. By utilizing environmental friendly energy sources and desisting from harmful activities such as deforestation, the world will be a better place in the future. The constant growth in human population and the need for urbanization have posed multiple threats to the environment because of pollution. People and organizations overlook the essence of conserving the environment …show more content…

For instance, practicing deforestation to meet the global energy demands and to create land for settlement. Trees are essential to air purification and enrichment of the environment. Destroying them conflicts with the possibility of having a sustainable environment. Additionally, many companies use petroleum products to run their locomotives and machineries. Owing to the fact that the world has a large number of vehicles running on petrol and diesel, the amount of carbon released to the environment is alarming and this situation heightens the level of global warming. According to Fazey et al. (24), the world has seen an alarming rise in global temperatures over the current and past century due to the rise in carbon (IV) oxide to the environment. As such, a continuation in this trend will render the world inhabitable in the near future. There is a need to develop appropriate solutions to the environmental pollution through the utilization of appropriate energy …show more content…

Assuming that half of the global population embraces this alternative, meeting the needs of the growing population would be lesser challenging as opposed to the current situation. Owing to the fact that the utilization of solar energy in the globe has been in operation for some time, popularizing its application is achievable since this energy alternative is still in its infancy. The alternative is a reasonable solution as it does not produce any form of carbon emissions to the environment. As a result, this alternative can be used to solve the global energy crisis through engineering. Alternatively, nuclear energy is a sufficient substitute in making the environment more habitable than it currently is. Sullivan (202) reports that nuclear energy is considered to be one of the purest forms of energy as it yields lesser greenhouse emissions as opposed to electricity and petroleum. Moreover, it is worth noting that a single radioactive element has the capacity of producing large amounts of power by decomposing. Meeting the energy demands of the globe is, therefore, an achievable target through this solution. However, the disposal of the radioactive waste is a rising concern as it equally poses a threat to the human beings and the environment. As such, developing appropriate solutions for this problem would save the environment through the introduction
