During the pass of the course I have been given a lot of information that will help me in the near future. From the difference of writing genres, to the use of rhetorical appeals, all I have learned has contributed to making a change in my writing. Indeed my high school writing and my level of writing right now might not be comparable at all. This course has taught me successfully all the main aspects of writing, particularly critical reading, writing techniques, grammar and transitions. Is incredible how over this curse my writing style has changed. This class, College Composition, has not only obligated me to write long and strenuous essays, but to think out of the box. While I was on high school I used to write only responding to a question, simple answers like “I Agree” or “I Disagree”, and make up a reason why. This composition class made me interpret with profundity the readings and think really well what my answer was going to be, and why I thought so. Following the 5 paragraphs style is not needed, in fact a writer is free to distribute the essay as he or she thinks is more accurate. …show more content…

Such techniques are as simple as writing outlines, and they helped me to improve my interpretation of the readings, and make my writings better. I cannot say that my skills have improved to the point of having a professional writing style, but I have learned that the process of writing might be more important than rushing to complete the paper. If the writing is missing some aspects, it is better to make the other aspects stronger than make them all weak and not missing any. There is not such things as a writing template like they teach in high school. In fact, an essay can be completed in as many paragraphs as the writer needs.
