SWOT-Feasibility Study: The New You-Mental Health Center Mental health in the United States should be a concern for the entire nation. The effects of untreated or mistreated diagnoses are not only a concern for the individuals, their families, but to society. “Suicide… is the 11th leading cause of death in the U.S.”, workplace indirect and direct costs account for “34 billion dollars” related to mental health conditions (NAMI, 2015) and loss of earnings of “$193.2 billion” dollars annually is what the economy is not developing and is losing for growth potential (NAMI, 2013). Aside from these effects, there are increases in chronic conditions, decrease in education, increase in homelessness, and increases in addiction disorders (NAMI, 2013). The following report will consists of a SWOT analysis pertaining to opening The New You-Mental Health Center. It is imperative to open a mental health facility to help the people, help decrease the cause of effects towards society, strengthen our community, and give the people back their livelihood. Increasing mental healthcare access, increasing awareness, and decreasing the effects of mental health conditions on the economy, will move the country into a more empathic, understanding, stronger, united and humane society.
