Many people take feeling full and having enough money to buy food for granted. In Walmart 's recent commercial, "Hunger Is Closer Than You Think," they start by showing two young girls riding a school bus. The first girl gets off the bus and opens her refrigerator up to a wide variety of foods, while the second girl opens her refrigerator up to nothing but some empty bottles. When the little brown haired girl opens up her fridge to barely any food, the viewer can see her mother in the background with a saddened face because she feels bad she cannot provide enough food for her family. As the commercial progresses, the girl who does not have to worry about having enough food explains that by shopping at Walmart her family is able to buy the food they need and also help others in need as well. In the end, the commercial comes full circle when the brown haired girls has enough food to eat all because of her friend 's family who bought food. Walmart successfully portrays their commercial by alerting viewers of the difference they can make to hungry people by shopping at their store.
