Purpose of the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards
National Board Certification is the occupation’s label of proficient teaching established by teachers for teachers. It is assembled with National Board Standards and the five core propositions, difficult and performance-based, based on several measures, peer-reviewed, voluntary, valid and reliable. “To date, more than 112,000 teachers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia have achieved National Board Certification” (“National Board Certification”). It is very beneficial for teachers and I think the National Board Certified teachers make better educators.

NBCTs (National Board Certified Teacher) have certification for the subject or subjects they teach. They have knowledge and experience in teaching it, and they are trained to handle the questions of the students have based on their assumptions in class. They know several different strategies to teach students so they understand better.
Proposition three is “teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student learning” (“National Board Certification”). NBCTs provide productive instruction. They use techniques to keep the students focused, engaged, and motivated. They know how to make a disciplined learning environment, and also how to put together the instructions so the students will follow them. NBCTs know how to measure the growth of an individual student and the whole class as well. Students of NBCTs leave behind their co-mates in other classrooms. When the teachers achieve the certificate, they show that they have the skills and knowledge required to improve student education and help them succeed. This certification gives the teachers access to leadership opportunities and career improvement. Also, before accomplishing the certification, teachers can implement the materials they are learning to assist their students every day. Another benefit of the certification is that it lets teachers to move much easily from state to state without any tension because many states relates National Board Certification with state licensure.
