Technology is rapidly changing each and every day, while this is changing it forces the users to have to change along with it. This rapid change raises the question of whether or not this new technology is safe for its users. This new technology raises many problems that include the monstrosity of cyber bullying and addiction to technology. Technology in part is not always bad, It does have its perks which include helping people to communicate over a distance. Since 2004 when Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerburg it took off and created a mind of its own. Facebook has made its users capable of communicating with friends and family whom would usually be out of reach. Facebook can be a positive experience for most kids, can help improve communication skills, and reinforce friendships (Listfield). I personally like facebook causes a lot of drama among the adolescent ages. Facebook is one of the big reasons why this new thing cyber bullying has come into existence. Jennifer Holladay the author of Cyberbulling: The Stakes have never been higher for Students-or Schools says Cyber bullying is When people take to the keyboard or cell phone and craft messages of hate or malice about a specific person(4). Cyber bulling is the cause of many problems involving adolescence depression and suicide. I have heard of many people who blame bullying that originates in school and then spreads to the internet as the reason of suicides in America. Sheri Bauman says you can pass a note around picking on a peer and it stay in the classroom but when you post the same note online, thousands can see it and the whole world becomes witness and is invited to participate (Holladay 5). I think that face book is great but I don’t think that it can take full responsibly for cyber bullying, because a bully cannot bully without having a person to bully. Without Technology civilization would not be in the point where we are now. I personally feel like I would be unable to give up technology at the drop of the hat. I “crave” my phone and other technologies too much to be able to give them up. Humans no longer have to be held to the house to wait for a call from someone who lives far away. Cell phones have opened up the possibility for people to stay mobile. If you haven’t seen a family member in ten years it is now possible to talk to them everyday due to the advancement of social media like facebook. Technology also has the power to build its users up but also has the power to tear them down. Technology has created the good and also the evil for humans. We live in a digital age, where everything is we use has to deal with either a cell phone or other technological device. Humans have made the world a better place through technology, but will it the good always outweigh the bad? I personally think the good outweighs the bad and that technology can only make life better. People say im addicted; I might be but I don’t see the problem I always tend to get things done and my technology only helps me. Without technology I would be unable to communicate, and to keep informed of things that are around me. The question still remains whether or not Technology is good or bad?
