Many people say that college is the greatest and worst time of your life. Yes, you experience the great times such as partying, and meeting new people. But let’s not forget about the worst times like crying your eyes out because you are afraid if your next test and even having six assignments all due at midnight. Although I look to have moments such as these, I also have to remember the real reason why I decided to attend college. That which is to pursue my dreams of becoming a nurse. Throughout these four years, maybe even more, I plan to do just that and along the way my goal is to also gain more skills and enhance my knowledge about being a nurse. Some skills that I have developed through the help of them are people skills, leadership skills, and also some medical skills. Throughout these course I have dealt with some rude elderly people and also some young ones. Before I became encountered with that I did not think that people could be so cruel, but I knew that I had to deal with it and continue my job. With that I gained great people skills I learned that everyone is not the same so you cannot treat everyone the same. I had to learn different ways to communicate with people and also try to understand their situation without giving my own opinion about it. I learned how to motivate and enthuse others when they felt as though they could not do it, this also was a major problem when it came to taking care some of the elderly in the nursing home, with this I became a good leader. Obtaining medical skills through high school was kind of difficult because I was young and did not think that I was qualified enough, but I somehow got through it all. I can say that my medical skills are not where they should be but I do plan on getting better with
