Marketing is one of the most influential topics that have changed the world, which has vastly impacted on employees, clients and especially consumers. As Kolter [2001-2012] defines ‘Marketing is the science and art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target market at a profit’. Whist doing a double degree, marketing is what interests me to become a marketing manager in a cosmetic industry. It’s my passion to work with professionals and demonstrate products that consumers will love. It’s important to review and plan my knowledge, attributes, skills and values in order to achieve the career I want. Since the summer of my senior year in high school, I was confused about the meaning of learning. What do I want to learn, and what could I do with my bachelor degree? So far, it has been two years. I still could not tell the answer to the first question, but, progressively, I know that I could do nothing with my bachelor degree and even with the higher degrees. On the other hand, the knowledge I learned so far is the thing I could rely. However, in some people’s points of view, this is unpractical. For such a long time, I have found few individuals sharing the similar ideas with me. Once, I saw a celebrity, who graduated from Tsinghua University, having a show online. He said that he was extremely disappointed when a college student, who also studies at Tsinghua University, ask him about whether he should take the examination of the public servant or not. From his point of view, as a part of Tsinghua University, one of the best universities in China, how could such a smart student is satisfied with basic needs, rather than cultivating himself. According to my experience, there are lots of people around me are pursuing material benefits. Self-cultivation, thus, is less important.
The article defines Self-Efficacy (SE) as a person belief in his/her ability to perform a particular behavior successfully. Researcher suggests mothers’ self-efficacy (MSE) can be directly linked to the increase or decline of a child language development (Albarran & Reich, 2013). This theory is explored by observing 2 factors, perceived barriers and parents’ knowledge and exposure to reading material concerning child development. There are 3 barrier discussed in these article’s. Parent centered barrier looks at the particular situation that would prevent or in decrease a parent from interacting with a child i.e. being too tire, having to work, or just being too busy. Child –centered barriers focus on the child lack of interest in any particular task i.e. being fussy, tired or just not being interested. The last barrier is structural; this particular barrier looks at environment factor that should possible effect (MSE) i.e. nosy back ground, and little exposure to reading material (Lin, Reich, Kataoka, & Farkas, 2015).
At the start of this module, I had no idea what to expect. When I heard the term “Marketing”, only one thing came to my mind: presentations. When I used to be in school, I remembered vaguely that my presentation skills weren’t exactly even close to Suze Orman, who is considered to be America’s most motivational speaker. In fact, they were so bad, I wasn’t sure of doing this course in the beginning. But then it wasn’t like I had a choice. I had opted for BA Hons. Business Management and the course came along with a module named Marketing.
Self-assessment tests have been around for as long as I can remember. The first self-assessment test I took was when I joined the Navy. I remember thinking what in the world does any of this have to do with joining the military. I soon discovered that it tested more than mental aptitude. It really showed mental, physical, and social traits that one possessed when put in situations that they had no control over. The tests are designed to gauge where one will be when stuck in a situation that they cannot get out of like out to sea on a boat or submarine for six months at a time. These tests, no matter which one you take, are as individual as the person taking them.

Erik Erikson composed a theory of psychological development that was composed of eight stages. Erikson’s theory focuses on how personalities evolve throughout life as a result of the interaction between biologically based maturation and the demands of society. According to Erikson, “Each stage of human development presents its characteristic crises. Coping well with each crisis makes an individual better prepared to cope with the next.” (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2013, p. 314) According to Erikson’s eight stages of development, I have only been through six of the eight stages.

A tenet of Buddhist philosophy for centuries, self-compassion has recently emerged as a promising intervention in Western Psychology with the potential to yield greater life satisfaction, social connectedness, emotional intelligence, and happiness while minimizing anxiety, depression, shame, fear of failure, and burnout (Barnard & Curry, 2011). In Buddhist tradition, a self-compassionate individual responds to his/her personal suffering with wisdom, loving-kindness, and mindfulness that extends beyond the self to all others who are suffering (Reyes, 2011). The Western definition of self-compassion derives mainly from the work
Well I guess I’ll start off this paper by being outright honest. I have never done this type of self-assessment exercise. So I’ll start this paper off with what exactly this type of self-assessment is. These types of self-assessments are meant to help show the individual (me) where my strengths lie and also where my weaknesses are as well so that I may try and lean on my strengths while improving on my own shortcomings. Essentially the Johari Window four regions model that we learned about is a great tool for this assessment. The first region is also known as the open area, which essentially means that this is what is known by the person about him/herself and is also know by others. The second region is known as the blind area in which this is information unknown by the individual but is known by others. Which could be behaviors that an individual does but does not realize that they are doing them. The third window is known as the hidden area. This area is essentially information that only you know about yourself and others do not. The fourth area is known as the unknown area. It’s known as that because this is information that you and others do not know about you. It’s when you take a look at these four areas and see your strengths and/or weaknesses are at and if you allow yourself to become open to feedback you then can improve on your own shortcomings and become a better leader.
