Our education has to stop being a tool. What we have done, making it simply a means to an end disgusts me. An education is not a process to get a shiny piece of paper that tells you what you are allowed to be in life. It has so much more potential than our current use for it, which is a glorified way to skate by in life to the occupation you want to hold and the income you want to make eventually. It is so, so much deeper than that, yet by the force of outside pressure it has become a cold cattle-herding process that creates more cheaters and idlers than enlightened human beings. We are so concerned with getting through, that we fail to recognize that is a process and the process is what is important in the end.

It is on us as the rising generation to understand all aspects of the world around us. We must take responsibility to become intelligent and educated people. But each of us doesn’t have to understand each aspect or subject of life, we just must achieve collective knowledge as a group. Begin with what you have a passion for and look for as much understanding as you can. Pursue understanding and answers to what interests you, as this is how we learn most effectively. Don’t take your learning lightly. Knowledge and wisdom can free and empower each of us. Not just financially as we see it too often, but mentally. With enlightened minds we can see the world around us in a way that we previously couldn’t have comprehended. When we see this new world we, then have the opportunity to change it and to mold it into a happier place for everyone. Seeing it however is the first obstacle and the way to overcome it is by becoming bright young …show more content…
What you can get out of it is so important to our development and growth. If you are young and don’t really know what you want to do with your future, go to school and try and find something that you enjoy. It is very difficult to predict our paths through life, but an education gives you opportunities you wouldn’t have had access to before and can help to lead you to somewhere that you are happy to end up. You give yourself the opportunity to improve mentally and help others to do the same. Being around more educated people helps us all to become more knowledgeable. When you are around wisdom, it can be transferred to you and then in turn you can pass it to others. In the end knowledge and wisdom are some of the most powerful things on this earth and they can be used as a tool to combat the problems that we all face daily as individuals and as
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” but what happens if this weapon becomes too expensive to use. Throughout our life time, what we are really taught is that how important it is for one to receive their education, but who really needs to be taught is the education system itself. It is an American dream for our and future generations to gain knowledge and advance because that’s what our nation needs; it needs people who we can trust to hand our nation to, but the debt that comes with educating our generations is holding a lot of them back and that’s unacceptable.
On Thursday, September 15, 2016 there was a board meeting in the Education center in Philadelphia. Career is not everything. Some people are always busy to have a good career to earn more money and to honor but the purpose of education includes more than just preparation for a career because it helps people to achieve knowledge, to learn basic things and think critically.
Education is important for a country to succeed. An uneducated workforce is far less productive than an educated one. As the sole super-power in the world, U.S. should be a able to constantly fine-tune it education to meet the future challenges. Critics have often argue that U.S. education system right now is what created the world best quality students from the Ivy League universities. Yes, it is inarguable that U.S. still produces one of finest quality of students in the world, however, the quantity of college educated students are equally or not, more important in this fast changing world. If the U.S. are unable resolve this problem, its future is nothing but a dire road of declination.
To write a reflection paper about the whole TESOL project for the past one and a half years is not a difficult thing for me because I never regret my choice to study in Alliant International University and learning master’s TESOL program here. With completing the master’s TESOL program, I was be able to benefit a variety of new things from different courses, as well as refresh my memory on thing that I already knew.
This being my first year of teaching I feel there are so many things that I have learned, and have helped me too become a good teacher. Yet I have so much more to learn, I still believe that students have the ability to learn and as a teacher it is my job to find ways to help them to become the best person they can be. Through being a reflective teacher, using professionalism, respecting diversity and having collaboration and community connecting this can be accomplished. When I am having fun teaching the student will have learning that material, this will help them to be relaxed and engaged in that lesson. I feel it is important to connect what they are learning to things that they have experienced in the real-world.
Writing a reflection and a summary of dozens of experiences is very challenging and demanding. I cannot count how many ups I had, yet I cannot deny the fact that I had some downs where I could transform them to ups. The year was full of challenges, excitement, fear and lessons. Each Wednesday I had mixed emotions. Every time I came to school I had the same fear and heartbreaks. In my reflection I am willing to compare between Adan at the beginning of the year and new Adan I became.
This class has opened my mind to the incredible impact that STEM Education can have on our society. I do not work in an institution that has a STEM program. I work at a preschool; this makes my practice of any type of STEM program extremely limited. However, it is a private school. All my students come from households where one or both of their parents are professionals. These professionals want their children to be academically prepared for school. This means we must academically, mentally, and emotionally prepare them for their future schooling. I teach my students how to be a functioning participant in a classroom while exploring mathematics, science, art, history, literature and pre-writing. Puzzles, counting, shapes, measuring, etc. are on the daily agenda. Science is a huge part of our curriculum. Science in the
Education is a very important aspect of the lives of all people all over the world. What we learn, not just in the classroom, shapes who we are. We take our education everywhere we go. We use it when talking to our buddies about sports or music, we use it while solving a math problem, we use our education while debating with our family whether or not we should watch TV or go to the movies. Our education is the foundation of who we are, since every decision we make and every thought we think is dependent on what we know. Imagine how different the world would be if everyone craved learning to such a degree that at lunch tables all over the world the topic of conversation isn't who likes who, or how drunk someone got over the weekend, but it would be what books were read over the weekend, and what new ideas were thought of. This crave for learning would be an ideal but still suggests need for improvement with the current educational system. It seems that the problem with education is that somewhere along the lines the human race forgot (assuming they, at one point, understood how valuable information is) that learning is not just a mandatory process, but also an opportunity to transcend and open the gateway to a better understanding.
There was a significant amount of knowledge given in this course, involving concepts that in our teaching career will be extremely important. From this course I have gained a significant amount of learning experiences. I had the pleasure learning about how the educational system has come to be what it is today and who were the important people in the creation of the public education, like Horace Mann. Watching the videos and reading the chapters required has opened my eyes more of how a teacher should respond to different situations involving a student, For example when we read the chapter on the laws that revolve around the educators and the students. I had absolutely no clue that students had rights while in school property. Another learning
Education will help you grow as an individual because the more knowledge you have the better understanding you will have in any given problem that will come your way. It will give you self satisfaction and will boost your self confidence. As an individual I know it will help me in a lot of aspects in my life. It will give me a financial stability because I will be able to land a good job and a high paying salary. I will learn how to spend my money and will learn how to invest it wisely. The more education I have the more respect and acknowledgement I will get from people. Knowledge is really important that is why we need to take it seriously. It is the strong weapon you can have to conquer this complex world. If you have a good education nobody can fool you and you will not tolerate any mistreatment from people. It will give you a better views in life if you are well educated.
To quote a phrase from Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz, "Make me the master of education, and I will undertake to change the world." If we are to change the world simply because we have and continue to acquire the education necessary to increase knowledge; we must never forget education along without the practice of inducing what is learned is not enough to produce attainable results favorable to sustain a society in the 21st century. We must become the voice of the people by getting involved to make a difference in the world by putting into motion what we have learned.
In a person’s life, they learn from everything around them, and take in everything that they see, and learn from all of it. Hopefully, they get a good result so that they may be able to make a difference in the world around them. I feel that I have to tools to make the changes that I want, and the knowledge to know how to make these changes. I look toward the future with a bright outlook, and know that to keep learning is the key to making my bright outlook the truth. For my future and the future of people younger and older than me, education will always be the key.
Education is man’s most valuable possession: it is the concept through which one’s love for learning stems, and the equipment used to pave an individual’s path to success. Although easily influenced by the opinions of others, education is one of the few concepts that neither internal nor external stress can strip from our being. The future of our society lies in the hands of our educators; the values and morals instilled by such figures govern the actions of the earth’s people.
The two philosophies that I have chosen to write about for my Education Philosophy Paper includes progressivism and existentialism. Progressivism focuses on the child rather than the subject matter. Due to society always changing, new ideas are important to make the future better than the past for students learning. This educational philosophy stresses that students should test ideas by active experimentation. Learning is rooted in the questions of learners that arise through experiencing the world. Progressivists believe that individuality, progress, and change are fundamental to one 's education. Existentialism is a highly subjective philosophy that stresses the importance of the individual and emotional commitment to living authentically. It emphasizes individual choice over
