Reflection Paper On Teamwork

Nursing is a demanding career that requires proficiency in many types of skills to ensure patient safety and wellbeing as well as timely efficient care. One important attribute that a nurse must have is to be effective at teamwork and collaboration. This semester I had the opportunity to practice working in a group, and it was a rewarding experience. The benefits of teamwork, such as, creating a group of support and splitting a large task into smaller manageable sections, cannot be understated. I hope that in my future career as a nurse I have the pleasure of working with individuals who are as task driven and understanding as the people I had the pleasure of completing this project with. Through teamwork we were able to build a support group for finishing this assignment and creating camaraderie in our other classes. We were able to effectively open a dialogue through which we planned our strategies to complete certain tasks. The discussions composed the bulk of our meeting and seemed very effective. She did not make an effort to communicate with us very well and I did not feel like we were able to create an interpersonal relationship. However, she came to every meeting and completed her share of the delegated tasks, therefore, I have no qualms with her. I only wish she would have shared her view on the project, or even responded with “ok” on our group text messages. Perhaps she is just shy, and easy going, but I still would have preferred to hear her voice in our group moments of collaboration and decision making. There was nothing I could do to change her behavior, but I always made sure to ask if she had a particular opinion about an idea we were voting on as a group and she always was “fine either way” or “good with
