What are goals? Goals are targets that you take step. Setting goals is important because they push you to improve yourself and help you guide yourself through life. “If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else”. ~David P. Campbell. 1 I think that everyone needs to set goals. It doesn’t matter who you are, you need goals to move forward in life and to improve yourself as a person. When setting goals you can set long-term goals and short-term goals. Long-term goals are goals that take a longer time to accomplish and require a lot of planning. I have struggled with this for a long time because I procrastinate, forget to write down when it is due or just don’t do it at all. This is something I have to change because it is affecting my grade. To achieve this goal I have to put my priorities first. I have to organize what I am going to do first by putting in a grid from most urgent to least urgent. Also not putting the homework that I don’t want to do last because then it becomes a chore for me and I end up not doing anything. Putting away all distractions like phones and tablets will also help out. My second academic goal is to do better on my test. This is my short-term goal. I can do this by practicing the skills I have learned, make practice test and use the notes that I take during class to help me when I study. Also annotating more and reading the question closely will help me out during test. This is a short-term goal because I can do this with any test. My last goal is to improve my grammar. I have always been bad at spelling and punctuation. I don’t why it is so difficult for me to memorize these things. I plant to study the way words are used, to expand my vocabulary and to use better punctuation in the
