The Importance of College Education
Young adults today are questioning whether or not they should expand their education after high school. Making the choice whether to go to college can either make or break a young adult’s future since today’s economy is extremely competitive. Today, a college education provides many wonderful benefits for young adults, such as better job opportunities, better paying jobs, and even helps students start a career. Above all, I have discovered that having a college education is necessary for young adults to maximize success. Although, college education has high costs, and the payoffs are uncertain, they are able to pay for it through scholarships, finical aid, and could even take out student loans. College is worth the risk. It is said by the Lumina Foundation 2011 that “By 2018 it is estimated that 63% of U. S. jobs will require some sort of post-secondary education or training; currently, however; about 41% of adults in the U. S. possess a college degree” (Landrum 3).
