As I think back on the past eight weeks, it occurs to me how difficult and yet rewarding they have been. At the beginning of this class I shared in a post that I promised myself I would go back to school for my bachelors degree once my Certified Compensation Professional designation was completed. I knew it would be a challenge to add going back to collage into my hectic life, however, I did not anticipate how much of an impact this first class would have for me. This course and learning environment have been the final component needed to help facilitate some hard decisions. My career has been stuck at a crossroads for longer than I care to admit and have been unable or possibly afraid to make a decision I have known for some time was needed. Each unit helped me think about the focus for that week in relation to my current personal and career situations. The assignments for each week helped me grow in a new way because I could not count on verbal interactions, questions and responses to show my knowledge or enthusiasm for a topic. I had to thoroughly think about topics, postings and assignments because all our communications and interactions with one another were through writing. As I am typing, the thought occurs to me that this is most likely related to my visual learning preference.
