In Adolf Hitler Ideology his view on races and the Aryans in particular played an essential role and had been used by him to make differences between people and to introduce a mindset which believed in better people being superior compared to others.
He had a very narrow view of the “perfect human”. His ideal of the “perfect human” had to be tall, slim, narrow-faced, narrow forehead, narrow high-built nose, lower jaw, prominent chin, rosy bright skin, and smooth hair. Hitler called the people who fitted into his model the Aryan Race. Hitler called the “perfect humans”, the Aryans, because the original meaning is honorable and respectful. This would differ them from the Jews which were, in Hitler’s view, the “imperfect people” from the Aryans. In Hitler’s view, if there is a “perfect human” there has to be an “imperfect human”. In this way Hitler created 2 groups in society: The Aryans, and the Jews. In order to be called an Aryan, he or she had to prove that he or she did not have any Jewish family members. In addition he or she was not allowed to have a Jewish background. If the person did have Jewish ancestors or did have a connection to Jews in their family, he or she would be called for their entire life, under Hitler, a Jew and not an Aryan. But if he or she didn’t have any connection to the Jews, he or she would receive a document which assures that he or she is a pure Aryan. Aryans had many privileges compared to the Jews: They were able to work in workplaces which were well paid, were in high positions, and were very powerful in decisions. Did you know that even though Hitler had brown hair and blue eyes, his idea of a superior race was those with blond hair and blue eyes? He wanted this group of people to be superior to all other races because they represented a clean view of Germany. Hitler used his power to achieve this goal by enforcing many rules and creating many different projects. He wanted the people of Germany to believe that they were superior to all other races and they must do everything to maintain the standards of living in Nazi Germany. Hitler wanted a pure nation and he thought he could get that by having only the Aryan race in Germany (“Background”). The people of Germany, seeing their economic problems start to get better, ignored the discrimination and let the Nazis put their plan into action. Hitler had one goal and that was to kill every single Jew in Europe (Haugen and Musser). After capturing towns, cities, and countries, Hitler would take all the Jews and put them into concentration camps (Haugen and Musser). Some camps were designed purely to kill every single Jew that was sent there, while some were labor camps.
Hitler believed that life was all about struggle; in order to live a full life you must struggle and overcoming this struggle is the true meaning of life. Hitler believes that only the strongest will survive, and the weak will succumb and cease to exist, which ultimately will better the country as a whole. Hitler carried out many projects to weed out the weak, and build his strong ‘perfect’ nation; this included Action T4, concentration and death camps. Auschwitz is Hitler’s creation; it is his constructed society to exterminate the Jewish population through immense struggle, by not only killing them, but he also attempts to strip them of every single shred of humanity until there is nothing left and they serve simply as economic investments. Those who survived did not allow their humanity to be confiscated.
To begin with, Racism had a big effect in the genocide and murders in Germany. According A Teacher's Guide to the Holocaust, it states that “ It was the explicit aim of Hitler's regime to create a European world both dominated and populated by the "Aryan" race. Some people were undesirable by Nazi standards because of who they were,their genetic or cultural origins, or health conditions.” (“ Victims” ). It is so devastating that someone could kill or torture anyone who was not like them or who fought against them. The Jews were required to carry their identification cards. They were also excluded from businesses, parks, resorts, and forests. German children were taught that the Jews and Gypsies were not as good as the Germans. One of the methods used to teach German children was to make the Jewish children stand up and point out their distinguishing features. Hitler not only assumes that Aryans are superior to all other races but that the German people believe this as well. He assumes that that the question of race superiority has already been answered. According to Annette T. Rottenberg’s The Structure of Argument, “if [a] writer makes a statement that assumes that the very question being argued has already been proved, [that] writer is guilty of begging the question” (291). Hitler proudly states, “All the human culture, all the results of art, science, and technology that we see before us today, are almost exclusively the creative product of the Aryan” (300). However, approximately 11 million people were killed in the holocaust, and of those, there were only 6 million Jews killed. Hitler believed in eugenics, the idea of improving a race by selective breeding. Nazi ideology of the Jewish race was severe anti-Semitism and pure hatred.
