Executive summary
Constructing and programming of robot vehicle that can avoid the barriers depending on calculations of the exact distance between the barrier and vehicle using ultrasonic sensor fixed at the top of vehicle which contact with stepper motor to enable sensor turn right and left will be discussed and applied practically.
The functions of constructed robot can be summarized as avoiding barrier, changing velocity of robot depending on the range distance between vehicle and barrier, lighting warning lights when robot stop moving or beginning of motion and issuing a beep when rising from the ground, and stop working completely.
Previous working of similar robot, illustration the differences between many previous works and the objectives of this project will mentioned in this proposal.
The expected obstacles and difficulties in construction or programming will be discussed and analyzed in details and some solutions for those will be mentioned in addition to detailed study for the robot devices cost.

For the construction of the robot, only the Lego pieces and sensors provided in the tackle box were used. The design of the robot was modified from the original versions however, with the following specifications. The wheels were positioned in the front part of the robot, thus changing the axis of rotation to the front of the robot when it turned. Instead of the conventional four wheel design, the two rear wheels were replaced with a single pivoting wheel, thus reducing the resistance when turning. Finally, an ultrasonic sensor and sound sensor were mounted at the front of the robot as shown in Figure 2.
The Golf Retrieving Mobile Robot is an undergraduate thesis of the DLSU students. It is a robot that is capable of retrieving golf balls automatically without the assistance of a person. To study how a speeding car (speeder) can be caught by a patrol car, “Catch the Speeder Experiment” was done. Data showed that the speeder car has a constant velocity while the patrol’s car is continually increasing, which means that the patrol car’s is constantly accelerating with time. The position vs. time graph was analyzed to find out when the speeder could be caught by patrol car. It was found that the speeder with a constant velocity could be caught by a patrol car with a constant acceleration.
It is a shared truth that humans often tend to think of robots as nothing more than computer machines made of objects like metal, plastic, silicone and computer chips. However, in truth, a robot’s general purpose is more complex than some know. In order for a robot to function, it must carry out a set of arithmetic or logical operations, and programming the specs is difficult task that could take years to finish depending on the purpose of the robot.
When I first started robotics, I did not fully understand what an engineer was, and I had some cloudy vision of becoming a police detective in the distant future. However, the more involved I became in the robotics program, the more interested I grew in the whole concept. Being presented with a problem and limitations, such as time constraints, budget constraints, and size and weight constraints, and then have to come up with a feasible design that fits the limitations is an amazing learning experience. However, the process did not end at coming up with a design; in fact, that was just the beginning of a very long road. After the initial design was decided on, us designers spent hours coming up with CAD (computer aided design) mockups, dimensioning every single plane and meticulously going over every centimeter of the virtual version of our robot. With a solid vision in place, construction began and as we learned more about the problem and our own limitations, we were forced to perform small alterations to our design; making it dynamic to fit the ever changing

Setting goals and striving hard to accomplish them has always been my strength in professional as well as personal life. I have always been amazed by computers, code –programs and was keen to understand the underlying meaning, gimmick, structure and pattern of how programs actually work. Learning about simple Foxpro programs, excel sheet formulae, C programs at an early age heightened my interest in computer programs. This childhood interest urged me to do a diploma in information technology and later bachelor’s degree in the same area. Having completed six years course in Information Technology, and two years of experience in IT. I stand by the principal “Stay Hungry” and this has helped me in achieving my goals. Standing by this I would like to explore ahead and pursue MS in MIS. I would like emerge to put to use this knowledge to pursue MS program in MIS.
The design challenge is to navigate a robot through a preset course using the knowledge from previous labs and additional research of any kind. Solutions are free from restraint except for the requirement that the voltage source may not exceed 9 volts (standard layout would dictate a 7.2 voltage source). The course layout, dubbed a maze, is a simple square enclosure with 2 barriers protruding from the near and far rails. Black and white tape is laid out inside suggested a course for robots to take or for optic sensors to follow. The interior walls create the challenge while the rest of the course remains very limitless in navigation. Time and accuracy must be taken in consideration, as grade is based on both course time and the robot’s ability to maintain consistent time.

Computers and Technology have fascinated me right from my childhood and I have always had it in my mind to choose Information Technology for my engineering. The principle of working is that a car to be lifted is driven in between the posts and is parked in a chalked out area with arms of the lift spread out sideways as shown in Fig 1.
